NEW @ ACTION: PARCH We are pumped to welcome our friends @drinkparch to the portfolio. The founders traced recipes back to a 1956 text documenting the herbal, agave-based concoctions of northern Mexico. That research became the map for Parch: the Sonoran Desert, straddling northern Mexico and the southern United States and every plant, root and mineral that shares its terroir. There's a flavor for everyone rooted in the ethos that ‘what grows together, goes together.’ Who's ready to zebra stripe with us? Do you get our emails? Full details are in your inbox later today!! More to come... by @actionwine

@maisonbarriere Bordeaux Summer Camp Recap - Day 1 Domaine La Bouche du Roi Adrien Pélissié has set sail on a journey of bringing people of the present an opportunity to enjoy something more commonly enjoyed by the royalty of centuries ago. It is not often that a vigneron can pioneer the resurgence of an entire region, but Adrien has done that in the Plaine de Versailles. The “shark fin” shaped vineyard pictured was the exact holding of King Louis XIV, which is what La Bouche du Roi holds today. In the last photo, Adrien is standing amongst his most recently planted vines, pointing to the palace in the distance from one of the highest elevation points in the area. More on the estate below. In 2017, Adrien Pélissié (@adiperoni) and Julien Brustis, winemakers trained in Gironde, have brought viticulture back to the Versailles Plain. One hundred and fifty years after the phylloxera, the vineyard has returned to Davron, on the lands that once supplied the royal table. The Bouche du Roi estate now comprises twenty-seven contiguous hectares, which have been farmed organically since the first vines were planted. The vineyard is planted with six grape varieties, selected for the limestone soil of the Versailles Plain: Chenin, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon for white wines; Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Pinot Noir for red wines. The estate’s name is a tribute. At the court of Versailles, “La Bouche du Roi” referred to the department of the King’s Household responsible for wines and the table: sommeliers, cupbearers, and chefs, who oversaw what was served to the King. It was the supreme authority on French taste, where the most closely watched table in Europe was set each day. By adopting this name, the estate embraces this heritage and gives voice to a culinary art that Versailles had elevated to its highest form. by @actionwine
