For years I’ve had conversations about the need for real industry professionals to step into educational facilities to teach the next generation of creatives not only the skills that got us here but the mistakes we learned along the way so they can have a quicker path towards success than us.

Through our partnerships with @thesolafoundation and @inspireedu.us I’ve been able to put all the talk into action by creating an organization to serve the needs of the youth. For Artists, By Artists!

There’s arts education happening all across LA County. What makes Activating Inner Muse different is that we don’t just teach — we prepare students to work.

Our curriculum is built around workforce development and the current pace of the entertainment industry, curated by @rajwillbeyond from 10+ years of working directly with professional artists, productions, and live events. The goal is to go beyond the classroom and give students opportunities to put their talent into real-world practice alongside real industry professionals.

That’s what this moment is about: @xavierdajuan_ taking the time to work with one of our young DJs from @thesolafoundation program, showing him how to read the room, control the energy, and keep a real crowd engaged.

Real crowd. Real experience. Real mentorship. No Fortnite. 🎧😂

This is what workforce development in arts education SHOULD look like. Learn it. Practice it. Live it.

Happy New School Year! We have two hands on creative courses giving students 3rd - 12th grade skills training and workforce development in Live Sound, Recording Arts, Music Production and Entertainment Business. We are extremely proud of our students for participating in their first music festival produced by @randysavvy and @comptoncowboys for @soundsoflacounty @nextfestla ! Their growth over these last 4 weeks in preparation for this show has exceeded our expectations and proven that they have gained the skills necessary to take their career path to the next level in arts, media and entertainment. Special thank you to all the parents for allowing their kids to participate in this program. Thank you to the city of Compton and @lacountyparks @lacountyarts and the community who showed us love! First of many, til next time. Stay motivated.

Activating Inner Muse is now live! We are an arts, media and entertainment education initiative designed to empower 6th - 12th grade students through audio engineering, music technology and creative entrepreneurship. Students who join A.I.M. receive access to industry standard curriculum, training content, project resources and career path guidance. The courses include DJ & Music Production, The Art of the Producer, Audio Engineering 1 & 2 and Entertainment Business.

It truly takes a village! Special thank you to my brother @randysavvy for allowing our students to perform with him and believing in Activating Inner Muse—the after-school program I created to equip students with the skills needed to perform, record, and produce live music.

Our youth band had their debut performance at the 2025 @comptonfest, featuring students from Dominguez HS and Centennial HS—the original two schools that launched the Audio Production course.

Over the past 3 years I’ve had the honor of launching and building the Audio Production program at Dominguez HS. As this chapter ends within Compton Unified, the mission will continue.

To my students—
You’ve made history, broken barriers and inspired me as I watched you all learn then quickly apply and accomplish goals no one else in California schools was able to do! Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey. Always aim beyond—and never let the world place limitations on your dreams.

Activating Inner Muse is a platform for young visionaries to tap into the sounds in their minds and bring them to life—through Audio Engineering, Music Production, DJ Performance, and Live Sound.
