This is what it looks like when a community shows up. Riders, volunteers, partners, and friends — the inaugural Cycle AZ 66 belongs to all of you. 100 years of Route 66, and we got to ride a piece of it together. Same road, next year? 👀 by @activearizona

Kevin here had been riding the Route 66 for the last 30 years, more than 100,000 miles.

He was a guiding light for this inaugural ride as a community member in Kingman. He works for the Hualapai Tribe and offered a beautiful land acknowledgement at the starting line of Cycle AZ 66. We ❤️ Kevin.

Often while he's riding on his own, he'll stop and pick up trash, stashing it in his jersey pocket until it's full. While he was riding Cycle AZ 66, he stopped to pick up this American flag. And then it went straight into his wheel, splitting two of his spokes.

He was able to have a friend bring him a spare wheel, but he's right - "no good deed goes unpunished."

Get out there and vote, Arizona. 🗽 Bike lanes and safe streets are part of many local politicians' campaigns. If you're voting in person on November 3rd, get there before 7pm and stay in line until you get that I Voted sticker.

Can you believe this was already more than a week ago??

Hopefully, by now, our founding riders' memories of high winds and rough pavement are fading...

Now all that remain are memories of stunning Arizona views, meeting new people, and that familiar feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day.

🌵If you were there, what's your favorite memory from the weekend?

Meet Sandy & Warren 👋They're proud octogenarians and founding finishers of Cycle AZ 66.

We caught up with them at Antares Point, but Sandy was absolutely cruising at mile 40 and didn't want to stop to chat. Warren wasn't surprised at all...for her 85th birthday coming up, she plans on riding 85 miles!

Ride like the wind, Sandy! A bike ride is the best way to celebrate. by @activearizona

An iconic ride on the Mother Road 🚲🌵

So glad Brompton could be a part of @activearizona Cycle 66 yesterday in Kingman, Arizona!

Hats off to the Active Arizona team, whose months of planning and hard work brought this event to life. It was an honor for our small wheels to be a small part of this special day — more scenes from the ride to come! #LifeUnfolded

I felt so proud seeing so many friends bike Route 66 for their centennial celebration. Cyclists faced harsh headwinds and moved through Hualapai land. Completing a total of 62 miles; a truly beautiful day of seeing human activity on the land, non car-centric.

I spent a good part of the day hanging out at an aid station for cyclists. We were stationed at Anteres Ppint, having a great view of “Headicus” the giant green head sculpture. Thank you for Sara Anderson and everyone else that made this day possible and beautiful! Bikes bring people together.

The founding riders of AZ Cycle 66 are officially out on the open road!

And yes, it is mighty windy.

But the Mother Road never promised to be gentle. This is a once in a lifetime experience. Stay tuned. by @activearizona

Some designs I worked on for the Cycle 66 event tomorrow with @activearizona my friends at @btwphx have poured so much into this ride. In addition to riding 100km tomorrow I’m proud to have contributed design, illustration and even poetry! It’s not too late to register! by @activearizona

This Saturday! In the 100-year anniversary of Route 66, Brompton is partnering with @activearizona for their inaugural launch of Cycle 66 — a metric century, 62-mile, group ride along America’s most historic highway, starting and ending the ride in Kingman, Arizona.

Local riders still have time to register and participate in this year’s event, passing through iconic local landmarks — and keep an eye out for Brompton’s ‘Burma Shave’ signage installation along the way 🚲🏜️ #LifeUnfolded by @activearizona
