I love that Allen’s mom caught us dancing - it’s a rare occurrence indeed :)

I do really love the freedom that working for myself has afforded me, and the fulfillment I get having the privilege of helping people who want to find fulfilling jobs and roles themselves.

I can’t help but push everyone I know to start businesses (just ask my friends lol)!

It’s a scary prospect: quitting a “stable” job to start your own thing. But many do it, even dumb lame people do it. Have you been thinking about doing something for a while? Maybe even worked on it - a blog post, a substack, a YouTube video idea, a new service you want to provide… and you just can’t get yourself to push “publish” and present it to the world? Here’s a tip: push publish anyway, through the fear and hesitation. Just hit send. Getting feedback is the first step towards learning, growing and doing even better next time. Don’t be scared. Well, it’s time to make the announcement: Gremlin now officially part of the family. 🥰 I tried to name him Pippin, but we’ve been calling him Gremlin since we found him and the name just stuck.

Gremlin appears to have been dumped on July 2nd: no collar, no chip, not neutered, and very dehydrated and scared. Last two slides are from the night we found him.

The crazy thing is that I was walking Django, and tearing up because I was missing my Rosie, who I lost exactly 2 years ago (August 2024). I started thinking about how I wanted a second dog again, because the biggest reason I got through losing Rosie was because I still had Django. Django is 14 now and he’s slowed down some… and I know 14 is really old for a big dog… anyway. I just decided then that I wanted to get another dog before it was too late. Plus Django is perfect and he could teach the new dog how to be perfect like him.

And I turned the corner and there he was - little Gremlin, hiding under a bush, clearly very tired in the Vegas heat. Shockingly it ended up taking 5 adults (wonderful way to meet the neighbors lol), to wrangle him. We got him home, fed, watered, and washed… and he was surprisingly easy right away. He has had a few accidents but once we got a routine, he has been great.

The vet estimated he’s 8-10 months old. I was never a small dog kind of person (since my first dog, Chipper, when I was 8), but he stole my heart pretty darn quick and I found myself hoping his owners wouldn’t come forward. After blasting online, on Nextdoor, and posting flyers around the neighborhood- no one ever did. So he’s ours. 🥰 welcome to your forever home, little buddy. by @actlikebarbara

@cirsxofficial was a wild ride - I am so thankful for this community. Healing from CIRS is no joke, and given my new spine and tick borne complications, I am more confident moving forward with my healing knowing I have some of the most brilliant medical minds in my corner and supporting me all along the way. I also conquered my anxiety around presenting to a big group of doctors and I did as well as I hoped to! Special thanks to @ladycarnivory - I know we will always be able to lean on each other, and I couldn’t have done any of this without you by my side. Endlessly thankful to @cirslab (both Christian and Ave), @untamediona Dr. Sparks, and @regenixhealing Dr. Peg and Glenn for their mentorship and support. Shout out to @drericdorninger for giving us this opportunity to speak on behalf of the patients to all the amazing practitioners in the CIRS community. Are you unsure if your business idea has any real potential? Validate it! Google what you want to do as if you are your future potential client. Also, check out YouTube videos on the topic, other social media accounts, anything related to your thing.
