Jokes aside, some genuinely incredible musicians have reached out since I started doing these, and I really appreciate it. We’re getting closer.

I’m just trying to make sure we find the right people, not simply fill spots.

Can actually play. Will actually rehearse. Wants to contribute. Serious about committing to the project. Good human to be around.

And preferably nobody who has been cancelled from the Tampa music scene. The bar is low, but it does exist.

Bloody Knucklehedz still needs bass, guitar, and vocals.

If you think you’d fit or you know somebody who would DM me or send them my way.

In the meantime, the recruitment videos will continue until morale improves.

RECRUITMENT ATTEMPT #3: THE BLOODY CAMPAIGN CONTINUES.

The Bloody Knucklehedz recruitment effort has so far been met with overwhelming indifference from the unwashed masses. Maybe it’s instagram restricting my reach as punishment me for not jiggling any T or A, but I refuse to sink to that level… for the moment.

Still looking for bass, guitar, and vocals in the Tampa Bay area. If you can play, show up, contribute, and not piss me off, DM me.

Also, shout out to @legendsguitarstampa for my newest bad financial decision: this Jackson DK2.

I spotted it on their website during my lunch break yesterday and immediately flew down to the shop. For a few minutes, nobody could figure out where the damn thing was. Shout out to Julie for making this my new music home.

So apparently the recruitment campaign has accomplished something. I found another guitar.

Still need musicians, though.

I’m looking for bassists, guitarists, and vocalists interested in making some noise and helping figure out what the next version of this band sounds like.

No rockstar bullshit. No need to impress anybody. Just be able to play, be reliable, bring some ideas and have enough emotional intelligence to not be a pretentious asshole.

2026 has been a brutal year. There’s been so much loss, uncertainty, anger, and just an endless stream of bad news. Some days it feels impossible to escape it, and I’ve caught myself consuming so much negativity that I forget to look up and appreciate what’s right in front of me.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much of our experience is shaped by what we choose to give our attention to. We can create our own little heavens and hells in our minds, and sometimes we get so accustomed to looking for what’s wrong that we overlook everything that’s still beautiful.

And there really is so much beauty.

I get to make music with people I genuinely love being around. I get to be part of a community of artists and weirdos who remind me why I fell in love with creating in the first place. I have a partner who makes my life richer simply by being in it. I have a home to come back to, people I love, and opportunities that a younger version of me would have been incredibly grateful for.

None of that makes the world any less complicated. And gratitude doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine when it clearly isn’t.

But I’m learning that I don’t have to carry the weight of everything that’s wrong with the world into every moment of my life. I can care deeply about what’s happening around me and still allow myself to experience joy. I can acknowledge how difficult things are without letting that difficulty become the entirety of my existence.

Sometimes it’s enough to sit somewhere quiet, watch the world go by, and realize that, for this particular moment, life is pretty damn beautiful.

And maybe that’s worth giving a little more of our attention to. taken in Tampa, Florida by @actuallyactualtree
