Five Brighton choirs have already said yes to Blackpool 2027. 💖

Actually Gay Men’s Chorus (@actuallygmc), Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus (@brightongmc) , Brighton Rox (@brightonroxchoir) , Rainbow Chorus (@rainbowchorus) and Resound Voices (@resound_voices) — we’re very glad you’re coming.

Between them, 188 performers singing with these choirs joined us in Bristol 2024.

Now it’s Brighton → Blackpool.

Different coast. Same choir chaos.

🎭 It takes balls… and Actually, yes it does! 🎶

Since Façade, we’ve heard more than once:

“I bet it takes balls to get up on stage and sing!”

And ACTUALLY… yes, it does! 😂

But that’s the thing about Actually. We’re all about chosen family, encouragement and creating a space where people can have a go.

This Thursday was a perfect example: a closed-door, members-only “Sing With Simon” cabaret spectacle, performed in the beautiful candlelit setting of St Mary’s.

An impromptu cabaret, Actually(!) — and what a brilliant evening it was. ❤️

Huge thanks to all the singers, organisers, and everyone who helped set up and clear up — and, of course, to Simon Gray for overseeing such a fabulous little event.

This is the space to try something out, make mistakes, be a little bit ridiculous and know your friends have got your back.

Tonight, the curtain falls on Façade.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Opening Night. Tonight, we do it all one last time... before the façade finally cracks.

Today also marks Brighton Trans Pride 🏳️‍⚧️ As proud allies, Actually Gay Men's Chorus stands with our trans community today and every day.

🎭 CAST TO PLACES! 🎭

Tonight is technical rehearsal for Façade—bringing together every light, cue, note and moment as we prepare to welcome audiences this weekend.

To every member of Actually Gay Men's Chorus: thank you. Thank you for your commitment, friendship and belief in one another. Week after week you've supported each other, laughed together, learned together and created something far greater than any one voice could achieve alone. That's what this chorus is all about, and we're incredibly proud of every one of you.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to our amazing Music and Production Teams. To Musical Director Samuel James-Cousins, Deputy Musical Director Simon Gray, Producer Jack Merrington, and everyone behind the scenes—thank you for trusting us with your vision, creativity and music. Together you've shaped Façade into a production that inspires, challenges and celebrates the courage to be ourselves.

To our chorus, band, guest artists, backstage crew and front-of-house volunteers... break a leg! The façade is about to crack.

A special thank you to The Sussex Beacon, our Members' Choice Charity, who will be with us on both evenings. At Actually Gay Men's Chorus, community is at the heart of everything we do—and Brighton Bear Weekend is a wonderful celebration of exactly that.

We're especially proud that three of our Actually boys – Zach Ebling, Nick Johnson and Chris Tippett – are volunteering as part of the Brighton Bear Weekend Team. If you're around Dorset Gardens or out and about across Brighton, keep an eye out for them in their red BBW Volunteers' T-shirts as they welcome visitors, keep the weekend running smoothly, and help raise funds for the Pride Community Foundation, supporting LGBTQ+ organisations and community projects across Brighton & Hove and beyond.

The bear community has always reminded us that there's strength in authenticity, pride in every body, and a place for everyone. Whether you're a bear, cub, otter, wolf, admirer, ally—or simply looking for your chosen family—you'll find a warm welcome.

That feels very Façade to us. Behind every façade is a story. Together, we build a community where everyone belongs.
