A bittersweet weekend on our 6th annual Sunriver trip. Really missed our baby girl, but we saw her in the dragonflies each day. She loved playing in the shallows of this pool, and it was hard to see all the other little kids running around. But we made the best of it and are giving Kori every experience we can. We postponed this trip for weather, and Ember provided the most beautiful weekend. So proud of this girl! 🤟🏼 Yesterday was a really, really hard day for our family. Walking into school without Ember was something none of us were ready for, but we are no strangers to hard days.

I tell Kori this often: Being brave doesn’t mean you aren’t scared. It means you do the hard thing even when you are. And yesterday she was scared, she was sad, and she was incredibly brave. ❤️🧡💛

Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by to check on us, sent flowers, food and coffee, wore Ember gear or strawberries, and hugged on us yesterday. Having our community surround us made an incredibly hard day just a little bit easier.

We are so blessed with such an amazing school. As we walked the halls, we saw so many memories of Ember and artwork dedicated to her, which made our hearts hurt and smile all at the same time🍓🌈

Kori got the sweetest teacher this year, and we already know it’s going to be a great year for her. We know her sister was holding her hand in spirit and day🪽 taken in Redmond, Oregon by @acuen117

We went to visit Ember’s memorial site at Suttle lake today. We did some maintenance on it and organized all her toy offerings. Here is a quick video of the area for those of you that haven’t or can’t get to this beautiful area. With school starting up again tomorrow, emotions are all over the place. We spent 10 days all together… we played, we sang, we surfed, tubed, skied, we roasted s’mores, played games, we LAUGHED and we cried… we enjoyed the beauty all around us, and we remEMBERed our girl… we found strawberries 🍓 everywhere, we watched dragonflies follow us, we sat by the fire & we watched the sunset glow. I felt so blessed to be with my family, to watch my sister & Andrew laugh and have glimmers of joy, real joy, that they so badly need. I felt lucky to play with Kori and see her have so much fun with my kids, to watch them wrap her up and love on her. We all needed this and I’m so grateful we got it ❤️‍🔥 by @acuen117

We were given the opportunity to stay a few nights on the Oregon coast this week. A chance to breathe in the ocean air and reflect on what has happened. We saw Ember in so many different ways, which made us feel better. Whether it was an eagle or a seal, we knew it was her saying hi. We did some crabbing, kite flying, and walked around. We were hoping for some quiet, but that quiet was deafening. We miss her, but we know she’s in a better place. #embersglow by @acuen117
