LAUCHING NEW BOOK at I Never Read, Art Book Fair Basel 2025 @ineverreadartbookfairbasel Next June 18 – 21, 2025 WHAT IS PERFORMANCE ART ? 33 artists answer our question to give form and voice to their works. For some time now, it has been possible to find meanings for what might constitute performance or performance art, and whether we can distinguish between the two terms—or even whether the name « Performance Art » is appropriate for this artistic development. It has become almost inevitable, in any discourse on performance, to begin by highlighting the very impossibility of defining it. Could this elusiveness be an integral part of its definition? Some photographs from my latest ‘performance’ in Paris, captured by @jeniafilatova. 🤍 “This is not a performance. This is not theatre. This is not art.” I m still processing what really happened in this evening , something died and something was born with in me …. Will give some time to slowly unfold what will come out of the madness which is my everyday life . It was a privilege to include two extraordinary artists in this work: @jenna_____________________ and @marie_polo_. Thank you to everyone who came despite the unbearable heat. In collaboration with @ada.perform. O.P.Y.U.M 023 presents OPEN CALL SELECTED 2023 FASE DE CICATRIZACIÓN, 2023 by Post-Organic Bauplan and Axonbody @postorganic_bauplan @axonbody They explore the relationship between body, movement and technology through the concept of wound healing. In the process of healing or scarring the once-familiar memory and localized sensitivity of affected areas shift, a poignant reminder that the body remains in perpetual flux – a cycle of wounding, being wounded, and healing, an alchemical dance of corrosion and renewal. Post-Organic Bauplan (ARG/DEU), is formed by choreographer, performer and producer Josefina Maro (ARG/DEU) and Dr. in Evolutionary Biology and interdisciplinary artist Salvador Marino (ARG/DEU). Simon Kounovsky (FRA/GRC), Self-taught visual artist working around concepts like hyperobject, anthropocene, post humanism and eco-anxiety, pushing the limits of those ideas through visual expression and hyperrealistic extension. CREDITS Concept, performance, and robotics: Post-Organic Bauplan Josefina Maro & Salvador Marino. Video shooting, editing and music: Axonbody Simon Kounovsky. Costumes: Victor Clavelly. Typo Design: Don Elektrq. Supported by AKADEMIE FÜR THEATER UND DIGITALITÄT, Digital Culture Programme of the German Federal Cultural Foundation. In 2024… We are launching a series of performative events intended to revitalize and diversify the artistic panorama by offering alternative spaces for the creation and appreciation of art which begins in June with the creation of a long-term performative installation Sun - nuS. ‘Sun - nuS’ occupies all four floors of [U122AE] presenting a performance installation art piece by Danylo F. and Bryan C. exploring sex, light, sound and visual art. They explore and expand upon fundamental aspects of their artistic practice. The exhibition includes installations, sculptures, stage elements, theater lightings. Danylo F. and Bryan C. Sun-nuS 06 Jun 2024 [U122AE] Sun Each performer embodies a sedimentary deposit of the past reaching into the dolorous forthcoming. The living sculptures translate a tension between the static nature of our politics and the dynamic narratives of the solar rhythm resonating with the viewer on the global warning. To unlearn so many narratives that only attribute to aimless groups of individuality, rather than a combined force we talk about power, incapacity, violence, resistance and finally also their opposite: freedom. Through the vivid juxtaposition of sun-like formations synthetically flashing from a lattice of metal, glass and a symphony of wires, Sun-nuS crafts a narrative that is both futuristic and intimately familiar, challenging our perceptions of earth perspective, decay, and the cyclical nature of existence. We are thrilled to announce the conclusion of the O.P.Y.U.M. 023 exhibition, a truly transformative experience that challenged conventional notions of art display and preservation. O.P.Y.U.M. broke boundaries by embracing technology, storytelling, and active visitor participation. It transcended the confines of physical art, instead focusing on the preservation of intangible heritage. The carefully curated pieces came to life in an immersive presentation, inviting you to explore the intangible, to ponder the invisible threads that shape our shared identity. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the talented artists who made this journey possible, and to everyone who played a role in bringing this vision to life. Your passion and dedication have forever changed the way we perceive art and culture. Stay tuned for more exciting ventures in the world of art and innovation. #OPYUMArt #InnovationInArt #thankyouall by @ada.perform
OPENING CONCERT | OCTOBER 20 Live Experimental Series MIGUEL ANGELES TICKETS LINK IN BIO Chaotic, angelic, hyperactive - Miguel Angeles is a Vocalist, DJ & Producer who lives at the crossroads of alternative, hard electronic, kinda punk, rap, underground and yet refuses to be bound by any one genre. With his frequent and unpredictable releases, Miguel constantly explores new crevices and is hell-bent on creating music that is rife with raw honesty and energy. In addition to his own music, Miguel has also produced tracks for other exciting artists, including Fousheé and Lil Uzi Vert, and collaborated with artists such as Ezekiel & Syko. Whichever side of Miguel appears at his shows or in his music, it’s always quintessentially him, coarse, and uncut. and more BOOK LAUNCH “Late October” by MILES GREENBERG ARTISTIC TALK MILLES GREENBERG X EKIN BERNAY Hosted by Noa Longhurst-Deshaulle VIDEO PERFORMANCE FRANKO B RICO MEHLER YBDG EKIN BERNAY MILES GREENBERG NOUSESKOU AUN HELDEN AGNES QUESTIONMARK ENCODESGEM POST-ORGANIC BAUPLAN STEFANO DEALESSANDRI by @ada.perform
O.P.Y.U.M 023 presents FRANKO B @franko_b_artist 20 - 21 OCTOBER PARIS PREMIERE Reflecting Wounds performed by Franko b on the 13 July 2023 in Stromboli , Italy Like many of my works and performance reflecting wounds is about a journey trough memory, history personal and collective, like many times in my works the body my body and the body of the artist becomes a canvas, a sculpture, a poetry a sound also. As always, I’m not interested in just telling my story but to share and tap in in the story of our humanity of this moment that I’m here in this space and not alone. The performance does not tell a story but share the stories shared and lived through being a witness of this times and history told and not told. There is not a specific start or finish or order in my works and especially my performance just shared memories via image making - franko b Video credits Video Filming : Marco Foti ( DRILLO ) Photography: Andre Juan Suarez Editor: Danylo Ferreira | Bryan Courtois Color Grade/Design: Bryan Courtois | Danylo Ferreira Curated by Fabio Weik by @ada.perform
O.P.Y.U.M 023 presents RICO MEHLER @rico01001101 in DIGITAL PERFORMANCE 20 - 21 OCTOBER PARIS RICO MEHLER i think i was once a car“, 3D animation, text, 8min, 2023 Rico Mehler is a video artist based in Hamburg, Germany, who works with 3D animation, photogrammetry, sound, installation, text and AI. With a background in film studies and art history, Rico now studies fine arts at HFBK Hamburg. In Rico’s work, the often lonesome digital realm transforms into an intimate place for self-exploration where the heightened reality in its artificiality allows for the disassembly and reassembly of body and self. A place where the human body is interchangeable, where its physicality becomes seemingly obsolete and the digital alter ego transgresses the boundary that is the corporeal skin. Between autobiographically influenced, phantasmagorical environments of electricity pylons towering out of flooded fields, forests by the roadside, country roads leading to nowhere and places that defy spatial classification, "i think i was once a car" negotiates body representations that are detached from the human form. Accompanied by a text that is partly AI-generated and partly self-written, the self alternates between machines and hybrid beings that draw the boundaries of one's own body as fluid and immaterial: „i could take on a new shape a fall“. by @ada.perform

IN CONVERSATION SAVELAB @savelab_ opyum023 interviews the SAVELAB collective (link in bio) SAVE is an artistic and scientific laboratory that explores chemical, physical knowledge in the context of artistic reflection. The space for work in the field of living, digital, technological. « The project explores the following topics: behavioral matter, quantum sensitivity, the interaction of mind and living matter, micro performance, hybrid art, eco-art. We are interested in a return to the body, which is “sealed” into digital space today in our opinion. We wanted to « print out » the body, get as close to the body as possible, examining the contact of the body and substance (menthol) in the form of performative action, creating the act of crystallization of a person. It is also interesting for us to consider nature, its unknown algorithms, to consider its behavior more closely. And this close contact of a natural phenomenon of crystallization and a person (almost their merging) gives rise to new forms of feelings, hybrid feelings and new forms of life. The project reveals the theme of the hybridity of the body, human consciousness and natural matter, explores the theme of new feelings and new bodily experience. The project explores the theme of the “living”. What can we call alive and what are its signs? The project proposes to fantasize about “natural oases”, where a human being and nature will communicate with each other on a subtle level, maybe telepathically, living a joint experience. » Julia Borovaya (artist) and Edward Rakhmanov ( scientist, engineer, researcher) about their work CRYSTAL / the mental body of menthol / interviewed by @danylo6518185918 | @bjornlines by @ada.perform
opyum (Outstanding Performances Yielding Urgent Meanings) back to our last IV edition 2022 Since 2019, we have gathered emerging artists mostly not recognized in the conventional market system and running by and in support to an inclusive society with individuals from LGBTQIA+ and QTIPOC, sex workers and gender diverse communities. They call into question the ways of capturing moving images, observing new angles and constantly renewed. They were commissioned by Danylo Ferreira and Bryan Courtois based on theme « Empathy for the pain on our skin » to declare the common desire to be attuned to a practical, theoretical and sensitive ecology of performance art. The Festival starts from a desire to help performer artists to disseminate their work. VIDEO PERFORMANCE ART is a medium between object and image in the flow of world events, to capture a moment and keep it for eternity. Showing the body through video is not neutral, neither politically, aesthetically or ideologically but still little known to the general public, deserves to be better understood by society because it makes it possible to question fundamental needs. The Festival was held in december 1-6 - 2022 at 3537.org (35-37 Rue des Francs Bourgeois 75004) and galerie Experimental (29 Bd. d’Indochine 75019). Many thanks to all artists and involved in the process. See you soon for the new edition. . . . #artfestival #video #performanceartist #artfest #emergingartist #videoperformance #opyum023 by @ada.perform
