4 Tips for Learning Choreography:

1. Embrace failure: Embracing failure means treating setbacks as information and not as your personal worth. Every wrong attempt shows you what does not work, guiding you closer to the real thing.
2. Say the steps out loud to yourself. Saying the steps out loud to yourself helps you to retain the choreo more accurately.
3. Listen to & feel the music: Also known as "musicality" transforms mechanical steps into expressive art. Feeling the music is key in expressing feelings of joy, love, passion, etc.

Some moments are just too good to leave in the past. This is a throwback clip from a 2023 Beg/Int Dance Skate class. This was the moment when I started to become more confident in myself which gave me the courage to return to my dance roots in my late 40s. Me Vs Me. Then Vs Now. What a transformation! When I started learning this choreo in April 2025, I had anemia & pre diabetes. I didn't have the stamina or the strength to do this move towards the end of the routine without running out of energy or breath but I still didn't let that stop me. I still showed up for myself. I struggled & struggled through the choreo even after I learned it. A year and a half later & I'm stronger, healthier and more mobile than I've ever been in my life! This is 51.
