Have been thinking about something the educator Sir Ken Robinson said regarding creativity: “If you’re not prepared to be wrong, you’ll never come up with anything original.”

I wonder if that’s why a lot of people use AI. It makes them feel like they’re right all the time, or at least, in their minds, reduces their chances of making a mistake.

I made my TV debut on @hwdi.tv today! Thank you to everyone on set who made it a wonderful and memorable experience: @wheel1r7, @adriandean, @amymantyka, @crispicrunch, @veryhappypuppets, @ginettehallmakeupartist and @laurapsotka. Looking forward to Season Two!

The first image shows, against a purple background, the title of the episode, which is “Sign Language,” and the writer’s name, Adam Pottle. The second shows Adam himself, a bearded white man in a collared lavender shirt, smiling at the camera and holding up his ILY hands. The third shows Adam sitting beside Isaac, a Black man using a wheelchair and wearing a teal hoodie. Adam signs and points to someone offscreen.) by @adam.pottle

Current reading: OPIOIDS & ORGANS by @arizonaoneill. A wonderful, imaginative graphic novel about a subject that needs more attention. Handled with equal parts rawness and grace. Check it out.

(ID: cover of the graphic novel OPIOIDS & ORGANS by Arizona O’Neill. The cover depicts what looks like an illustrated mausoleum facade. In the middle, like a magic all-seeing mirror, is an image of the artist, a white woman with short brown hair and a pink t-shirt with frilly sleeves, sitting in the lap of Frankenstein’s creature in the middle of a cemetery. A yellow lizard clings to the woman’s shoulder, like a familiar. The image is framed on either side by two naked women with their internal organs showing. At the bottom are two hunched skeletons with a red human heart between them. The effect of the image is both grotesque and ensorcelling.) by @adam.pottle

Loki’s at the groomer today, so Valkyrie and I seized the opportunity to visit our happy place. (Loki will come with us one day; he’s just not there yet with his training.)

Wishing you all peace and beauty from the prairies. by @adam.pottle

New episodes of @hwdi.tv are up on AMI+! Today’s episodes were written by yours truly and feature Howie the dog wrestling with some difficult feelings. With the help of @wheel1r7 and @allisonelang, he works through those feelings and finds himself a new job!

Today, someone close to me asked “Why is your writing such a priority? Why are you always thinking about it?” The question deeply disappointed me, because if this person doesn’t get it after knowing me well over a decade, they’ll never get it. by @adam.pottle

Today is Loki’s first birthday. This smart, beautiful, mischievous boy has been a shot in the arm to our little family with his relentless curiosity and silliness. He’s helped Valkyrie come out of her shell and become more social, and he’s made our days richer with his affection and presence. We’re so happy to have him. Happy birthday, my boy. 🤟🏼
