“Search Party” explores our thirst for real connection — to ourselves, each other — in an era defined by algorithms already searching for us, and learning us in ways even our most beloved humans can’t. Juicy. Queer. Lonely. Hilarious. This new book begs us to look up, and return to the details of our tactile lives that make us connected, sexy, and alive: The texture of terrier-fur in the rain. The cackling of friends at a crowded table. A lone pine swaying in the breeze. An emoji-filled love letter from an aging parent at 2am. 🍓

Photographer @michaelgeorge and writer @adam_falkner have traveled all over the world together, but it wasn't until Michael extended an invitation to Antarctica that Adam had hesitations. Not because of the peril of the journey or the extreme cold — but because of the silence. The writer took the plunge anyway, and came out on the other side with a newfound appreciation for the beauty and fragility of our world, and his place in it.

"There isn’t a word, really — at least not in the English language — that captures this feeling. This all-of-it-ness: hesitation stacked atop desire, awe alongside fear. A grief-adjacent gratitude that tells you for as long as you live, whatever you do and wherever your life takes you, you will not see this again. Not in this way," Falkner writes. "But this wordlessness — this cliché notion of lacking the language to name — has always been a reminder that I am present in a place."
