I’ve been offline for a few months but wanted to share that I competed in my first bike race this summer ✨ the Mishigami is a self-supported ultra cycling race around the full perimeter of Lake Michigan - I entered the “Mini-Gami” which is the 484 mile abbreviated route (catching a ferry across midway through) I finished in 59 hrs 34 mins landing me in 17th place 🙌🏻 (aka first place in the steel frame & sandals category)

Day 1 - Chicago > South Haven (149 mi)
Day 2 - South Haven > Luddington (142 mi)
⛴️ 8:00pm Ferry > arrive in Wisconsin @ Midnight
Day 3 Manitowac > Chicago (193 mi)

It was an awesome adventure! I biked alongside deer in Mount Pleasant, ended up in a triathlon in Grand Haven and laid under the most incredible starry sky while crossing the Great Lake 💙 I went against my plan for the final stretch and started biking straight off the boat into the night > traveled about 60 miles before I was out of water & in the middle of nowhere so stealth camped outside a McDonalds until they opened - made it to Milwaukee by 9:30am! Pushed my body to the limit and met a bunch of cycling freaks willing to do the same. Maybe I’ll take on the full perimeter in the future but for now this effort was plenty 🚲💨 by @adam_glab
