Last night we opened a Midsummer Night’s Dream at @texasshakes to resounding applause! I’m so proud of the work that my fellow cast mates and I have developed. A huge shout out to all of the designers and technicians who found a way to pull so many dimensions out of the VCA stage!

It’s a big day for Adam.
-Adam

Two nights ago, a friend asked me what I was hoping for for my 25th year of life, and I had to take a long moment to reflect. I didn’t know! That reflecting period extended beyond that conversation. The question of “what do I want?” Have I been happy with my work? ✅ Have I been happy with my community? ✅ Have I felt like my life is consistent in any way shape or form? 🤔 I have traveled across the country and made incredible friends along the way. It has always felt like there is a new adventure around every corner. When I left home 7 years ago I fantasized about joining a traveling circus in Italy post-grad… Obviously that particular opportunity has yet to unfold itself to me, but the essence of my dream still lives. What do I want from this new year? Truly, all I can want is more of the same :-) by @adam_kodada

I had the honor of working on three of Shakespeare’s biggest BADONKADONKS this summer at @newswanshakespeare!!!

I had so much fun swinging my honky tonk all over that beautiful stage, and what a GIFT it was to play three iconically unique a$$ h@/€s from the cannon! (Bertram, U/S Benedick, and Don John in order of appearance)

Shoutout @sarah.hentges @kiyasakari @nanami.ymkw @kateosheehan for the awesome pics!!

This past weekend I had the privilege of returning to @utahshakespeare to adjudicate and teach workshops for their annual High School Shakespeare Competition where over 3000 students from around the country gathered to celebrate their fellow actors’ artistry!! Students competed in a range of categories spanning performance and tech, while attending workshops offered by professional artists in their free time. After full days of competition and learning, the students and professionals all gathered together in the Randal J. Jones theater to give the incredible USF actors a rowdy close to their summer season!

It was a joy connecting with old friends, and meeting so many new faces! I feel propelled forward with new inspiration after leaving, and I can’t wait to see everyone again next year 🤩 by @adam_kodada

Bertram’s Invisible Fight

My second summer with @newswanshakespeare ended one week ago, and I wanted to share one of the highlights from the shows! When I first got the script for All’s Well That Ends Well, I remember reading that in the opening of act 2, “Bertram enters fighting an army of invisible enemies.” I thought to myself… hmmm I hope the fight director, Michael Polak has some ideas. We both looked at each other on day one, shrugged our shoulders, and got to work. This is the result :-) I hope you enjoy.

A birthday post for the most inspiring artist I know: My Dear Mother
Being raised by someone so motivated and passionate about her work is a blessing. I grow because you planted the seeds, @karenhtseng. Thank you for nurturing me in the past, and for supporting me as I continue to reach towards the sun! by @adam_kodada
