All I ever seem to post on social media are the good bits. The smiles, the adventures, and the memories we’re making

What you don’t see are the 5am wake-ups, the tantrums because he wants to be out before the day has even started, or coming home exhausted after being non-stop all day only for more tears because, in your eyes, the day shouldn’t be over yet. The real side off autism

You don’t see the biting when you’re overwhelmed, the plans we cancel, or the constant feeling that no matter how much I do, I haven’t done enough for you which regularly brings a tear to my eye

You don’t see the other children interacting and talking to each other while mace is on his own, unable to speak and communicate properly

I’m not going to pretend it’s easy, because some days it’s really hard

But what people don’t see is what you’ve given me

You saved me

You’ve taught me patience, unconditional love, and to appreciate the little moments that others might miss

Being your dad is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it’s also the greatest privilege of my life, when I’m not with you my life pauses. It feels empty

I struggle a lot, and I shout when I don’t mean too and I’m sorry when I do. I don’t mean it and feel bad as soon as I do

I worry about your future every day, but if I had the choice to do it all again, you’d still be by my number one

You don’t have to say the words for me to know. I see it in the way you trust me to be your safe place and by grabbing my hand

To my mace, I’ll never stop trying, never stop fighting for you, and never stop loving you exactly as you are

I hope you read back on this MM when you’re older and realise how much you made my life worth living, and you see all the stories that I upload off us an realise how loved you are

I will regularly come back to this post and continue to sob watching the clips

Your mum and nursery teachers are shaping your life for the better and I couldn’t be more grateful with the love you receive

Another reel, another boring story for half off you, but memories for my boy to look at

2k miles driven, 30k average steps but worth every single one off them

Even managed to come home with a phone and the use off a sat nav this time as I avoided being mugged, and another successful trip for the s3 taken in Switzerland by @adam_marshy

I didn’t realise until today just how rare this moment was

A big rock fall at oeschinensee just above the lake

I was eating lunch and heard the rocks tumbling without realising what was going on

It wasn’t until today that I found out how rare these are

I even had a local hotel owner ask me to send her the video as she missed it 😂

Siargao was pure heaven, the best place I’ve ever visited
