My friends, what a year, right? I know it feels like we say that every year as we pause and reflect on just everything that we’ve collectively been through over the last fifty weeks. But this year — I mean damn. The theme of this year turned out to be resilience. Resilience you didn’t think you had in you, resilience that carried you through, and resilience that carried you through some of the toughest times you’ve been through. I had high hopes for 2025 coming off of last year, but my heart had other plans. It was an incredibly traumatic experience that I am still recovering from (mostly mentally at this point) I (along with my new mitral valve) am so grateful to everyone who helped me through that time, from visiting me in the hospital to just hanging out with me while I couldn’t do much. On the other side of that I learned how valuable and important time is. It is simply the most valuable thing that we can give to each other. Treasure it and use it with intention. Time is short and the road is long. Once again I am optimistic for 2026; we have to be. More connection, more acceptance of who we are and who we aren’t. I’m having to become acquainted with this new version of myself and figuring out how it affects my identity and who I say that I am for myself. I’m excited to see where 2026 will take me, take you, take us. I can’t wait to see your successes, your hopes, and your ambitions come true. I’ll be cheering you on the entire time. Onwards. For most of my life, Armenia has been a part of my past, where half of my family is from and has existed squarely “out there”. It was spoken about at Christmas gatherings in the past tense as part of origin stories and how we got to be where we are today. I never really saw it in my future, just as a part of my identity. This year, of all years, was the year to finally go. When I stepped foot off the plane at 1am, I couldn’t believe that I was there. All I had to do this entire time was simply show up. It’s a reminder that the world is so much smaller than we think it is. I found a beautiful, complex and challenging nation full of richness and history and possibility. My cousin Alec and I did a road trip from the capital south through the highlands and then up north to the southern Caucasus. We had an amazing trip. It was fulfilling and revealing. It is a stunningly beautiful country. The people are kind and generous. I can’t wait to go back. #armenia #hayastan #🇦🇲 by @adaminaction

Hi everyone. I’ve missed you all dearly. Sorry for not being around as much as I wanted. Jesus, what a year it’s been, hasn’t it? While most years are like rollercoasters, this one feels particularly extreme. New Year’s has always been one of my favorite times since it offers a distinct opportunity to reflect, assess, take stock, and experience a sense of rebirth, renewal, and recommitment.A year ago, I was (we were) in Patagonia, hiking and chilling with penguins. How much can change in a year, right? The breakup this year hit me really hard and was incredibly tough, and it had a profound impact on my life, psyche, and soul. I’m still adjusting and learning to embrace my true self *as* my self. The entire experience, coupled with ongoing health issues in my family and being the only child through it all, has left me feeling exhausted and overwhelmed by stress and anxiety…like I’m running on fumes; like there’s nowhere to retreat or recoup. And then there was the election, but what else is there to say about that? It’s all taken a significant mental toll.I’m optimistic about 2025. We have to be. I think it will be a year of greater growth and self-discovery than I’ve had before. I want to build more meaningful and lasting connections with people and make a positive difference in their lives. I’m grateful to have met some wonderful people in the last few months who enrich my life. More of that, please. I want to be there for others more and embrace my true self deeply and authentically. I want to travel less - but better and more thoughtfully, finding new perspectives and experiences. I want to worry less about airline status and more about river levels and kiln firing schedules. I want to reconnect with the things I love that have been neglected for so long and rediscover parts of my identity that haven’t been expressed in years. I want to return to my roots and embrace the person I truly am (or at least claim to be). Keep pushing forward, even though it feels like an uphill climb. Let’s hang out. I’m trying to get out more this year..and so, I made it out for solid weekend in the ever-enchanting and mystery-laden western Olympic Peninsula with some great folks. We paddled two new rivers that meandered through old growth forests and narrow gorges.
