Madsteez is back in the lab.

Armsteez and Madsure don’t just flip samples. They build chemistry. Since Selfsilience (2023), their blueprint has been solid: raw boom bap drums, heavy layering, dusty loops, and textures that knock but still breathe.

2026 marks a new chapter. The upcoming album 'Asian District' drops soon via Raw Svara. Still rooted in soulful, sampling-based hip-hop but this time the crates go deeper.

Madsteez digs into traditional Asian vinyl from China, Japan, Thailand, India, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Vintage melodies, ethnic instruments, and orchestral passages get chopped, pitched, filtered, and re-sequenced into gritty drum patterns and head-nod grooves.

Machines like the Akai MPC1000, Akai MPC2000XL, and Roland SP-404MKII once again serve as the backbone of their process. Keeping the bounce raw and the swing authentic that defines the Madsteez sound. No shortcuts. Just dust, chops, and knock.

Asian District isn’t just crate digging across borders.

It’s sample science with an Asian soul.
It’s boom bap reimagined through a different block.

New district.
Same raw energy.
