I’ll be honest, I don’t look back on high school with a lot of warm fuzzies. If there are memories I cherish, they’re mostly tied to music and the people I met through it.But last night’s class reunion was genuinely lovely. I found myself talking with classmates I probably never would have spoken to in the halls of Davenport West. One of the best parts of getting older is realizing that people grow. Life humbles us, shapes us, and gives us experiences we couldn’t have imagined back then. I’m grateful we all had the chance to reconnect, hear each other’s stories, and meet one another again as the people we’ve become. ✨ by @adampeters

“You don’t honor what’s been lost by refusing to keep living.”As a kid, I’d get so excited for the Walcott Day parade. Today, I got to walk it with my family. Being back in my hometown, walking that same parade for something I believe in, felt pretty special. There was no way I was going to miss it.Life has a way of reminding us that grief and joy can exist side by side. Today, I chose to celebrate my hometown, hug the people I love, and keep moving forward. 🫶🏻 by @adampeters

A hug that I still can feel.I’ve thought a lot today about Dylan Thomas’ words: “Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”I don’t read them today as a call to rage at death. I read them as a reminder to rage for life. To love loudly. To hug your people. To tell them what they mean to you. To leave nothing unsaid. This birthday was one for the books: a parade, a press conference, a wedding, and my first Moonlight Chase run.Thank you to everyone who made it so special. Whether you spent part of the day with me, sent a birthday message, donated to the campaign, or simply cheered me on, I’m incredibly grateful.
