On July 4th, fourteen years ago, a tiny spark of love padded her way into your home and instantly rewrote the rhythm of your family’s heart. Bella “Buttercup” Edwards wasn’t just a pet—she was a quiet, spunky little soul who greeted every person with a smile, a soft kiss, and a presence that felt like sunshine settling gently on your shoulder.

Yesterday, Bella’s watch came to a peaceful sunset. Surrounded by her family, she knew. She felt the love. And in her own gentle way, she said her goodbyes—soft, knowing, grateful.

Ms. Buttercups, a.k.a., Bellzie, you gave your family everything. And now, free from pain, you’re back with Jett—tugging ropes, splashing in heavenly lakes, and riding shotgun with Poppa Edwards. Your Nannas, Poppa A, Kae, Emma, Sarah and I will never ever forget your love 💕

Her sweetness spread far beyond your home. Nova, her groomer and friend, didn’t just give her bows—she captured Bella’s spirit, her softness, her spark. Those little snapshots, those tiny bows, those moments frozen in time.

Our sincere appreciation to 405 Vet for their patient and compassionate over the years of service and care for Bellzie.

Last week, I was honored to stand among an extraordinary class of Cowboy alumni as a 2026 School of Marketing and International Business at Spears Business - Oklahoma State University Distinguished Alumni Inductee.

MAS also welcomed its inaugural class of Rising Stars, and I had the pleasure of spending time with these impressive emerging leaders during the ceremony. My athletic connection has enabled decades of meaningful work with student-athletes, but I am equally inspired by the opportunity to help shape our soon-to-be Cowboy community leaders—wherever their talents, ambitions, and passions may lead them.

Denzel Washington once described life as being lived in thirds: you LEARN, you EARN, and then you RETURN. I am firmly committed to that third chapter—sharing experience, opening doors, and investing in those coming behind me.

I am immensely grateful to Professor Justin Lawrence, Chairman Mitch Myers, the School of Marketing and International Business, and the Spears School of Business for this prestigious lifetime honor.

The work I have already committed to will continue—and the pride I take in being Loyal and True will never waver.

What an honor and privilege to co‑host our 3rd Annual OSTATE Rowdy Boyz Reunion at Grand Lake. Over 30 years of brotherhood, memories, and laughter — no more 40‑times (unless it’s arrival time 😎), but plenty of lake time, throwback film sessions (90’s Big 12 Football was lit), technique critiques, and gut‑busting laughter.
