I was honored to be apart of presenting my grandfather Jerry “Papa” / “Jigger” Bridges (@musicman12341) with his star at @alamhof a couple of weeks back. Congrats Papa! ⭐️ . . . . . . . Jerry Bridges stands as one of the most accomplished and versatile musicians to emerge from the Muscle Shoals/Red Bay area. A veteran of both the stage and studio, his remarkable career spans several decades of countless legendary recordings and performances.Jerry’s musical journey began at the iconic FAME Studios @fame_recording_studios where he recorded with a wide range of artists including Clarence Carter, Rufus Thomas, Tom Jones, Donnie and Marie Osmond, Mac Davis, Andy Williams, Paul Anka, Odia Coats, Candi Staton, Travis Wammack and Dobie Gray. In 1978, Jerry moved to Nashville, where a fateful introduction to Waylon Jennings @officialwaylon changed the course of his career. His exceptional Bass and guitar work was featured on Waylon’s Greatest Hits album, including the timeless tracks “Amanda’ and “Theme from the Dukes of Hazzard (Good Ole Boys)”. What was supposed to be a two-week stint on the road with Waylon turned into a 23-year partnership and friendship.As a trusted band leader and collaborator, Jerry witnessed first hand the excitement, triumphs, and challenges of life alongside one of country music’s true legends. He helped shape the sound of outlaw country music by producing and co-writing with Waylon, contributing to hits such as “America”, “Drinkin’ and Dreamin’” and pick hit “I’ll Be Alright”. Throughout His career, Jerry has performed or recorded with an extraordinary roster of artists, including Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Jessi Colter, Shooter Jennings, Glen Campbell, George Jones, Hank Williams Jr., Buddy Hollies Cricket’s, Chuck Berry, Johnny Rodriguez, John Anderson, Billy Joe Shaver, Harry Chapin, Gordon Lightfoot, and Tony Joe White. @willienelsonofficial / @kristofferson / @johnnycash / @jessi_colter / @shooterjennings / @glencampbellofficial / @thegeorgejones Jerry’s exceptional talent, creativity, and integrity have made him a cornerstone in American Music and a proud representative of the Muscle Shoals legacy. by @adamtbarnes
