Mail Day - Three test pressings landed from Germany from the vault of Crypt Records. Acquired some goofy ahh versions of records from the 90s I dug a ton. Getting a first press of the Pagans pink album has escaped me for decades, but I’ll settle for this test of (later repress) one. My old band listened to the Pink Album a ton on tour in the states circa 2004. Our label honcho at the time @mike_lavella once said we were only band he knew of regularly jamming it (aside from Sweden’s Demons) in our van. Plus, we have here the classic New Bomb Turks 2xLP singles collection and the best Devil Dogs album. Garage-scuzz classics.

For months, all I’ve heard is “Dad… I really need that Fat EP”. To which, I explained, it’s a really expensive record and he’ll need to save his money, or figure out a way to acquire funds somehow to get it. So, I suggest he sell some of his old stuff to garnish the cash (well, I did) and it added up pretty quickly. Then a reasonably priced (and condition) copy comes up for sale… and we pull the trigger. $350 later, it’s here. I gotta say, I’m impressed how he pulled this off (and with his choices). Either way, this kid’s growing collection is off to a great start in the last few years. Is it normal for a kid to watch Filmage and Salad Days before bed each night? Love this pal of mine so much.

RIP Phil Campbell of Motörhead! My first time working as a stage hand in my 20s was at Capital Music Hall for Motörhead here in Ottawa (for @spectrasonic)… and let me tell you, it’s was quite the night. Some of those load ins and outs were a breeze, but not this night. They brought everything: mains, front house etc. Literally everything. We moved three flight cases for mixers that were the size of cars. It was hard work, but still the best memory and gig. I happen to still have this memento of Phil’s. #motorhead #philcampbell by @adamyk

Wire - Mannequin (Harvest - Portugal)🇵🇹

Finally in the fold, after years of looking online. This 1977 Portuguese pressing has the unique cover (mostly for the back), but this is a rare one in any sleeve. Like many, the cover is thrashed, which makes it a perfect inclusion to the pile of singles for DJ’ing purposes (so I can spin this classic number without the fear of mucking it up with my man-paws). 🐾
