When your teacher gives you a piggyback ride... I'm a teacher... But first, I'm a mother and a friend... To teach passionately, you must first love wholeheartedly... Just a random day in the life of a modern day teacher... We play too much!😂❤

I was minding my business at a supermarket when I overheard two sales girls talking.

One was talking about how she gave her guy her entire salary for last month because he said he needed it to process his papers. She added that she'd been giving him money for five months now.

She said she wouldn't tell the other sales girl exactly how much she'd given hin so far... that if she did, the other sales girl would laugh at her.

Every now and then, they would pause their conversation... and I got the feeling they were trying to study me to see if I was listening in.

Satisfied that I wasn't, they would continue talking.

"Tell me na. I no go laugh, I promise," the sales girl who was listening said.

"You will laugh..." the other one replied before pausing for the umpteenth time.

I picked up two different packs of soaps and pretended I was reading the ingredients on the back.

"Three hundred and fifty thousand naira," she continued.

My phone rang.

It was my colleague.

I put down one pack of soap and picked the call

"Let me call you back please..." I told her when I picked. "I'm in the middle of something important."

I ended the call and dropped the other pack of soap.

The two sales girls had paused again.

I picked up another pack of soap and started to read the ingredients while I waited.

This was going to be a long shopping trip. by @adaobi_amadi

For over a decade now, you've been my best friend, my sister, my gist partner, my partner in crime...

I honestly don't even know where to start because how do you put into words what someone means to you?

You have become so much more than a friend to me... and I'm so grateful that life brought us together.

Over the years, I've learned, unlearned and relearned.

I've loved and I've lost.

I've laughed, I've cried, I've grown, I've changed, I've made beautiful memories and I've collected stories I'll probably still be telling when I'm 80.

I've made mistakes...

I've taken chances.

I've figured things out along the way and, somehow... I've become a woman I genuinely like.

And today, above everything else, I feel so grateful.

Grateful for the gift of life.

Grateful for family.

Grateful for friends.

Grateful for good health.

Grateful for love, laughter, growth and all the little things that make life beautiful.

I'm grateful for where I am...

I'm proud of how far I've come...

And excited about where I'm going.

There is still so much to see, so much to experience, so much to laugh about, so much to learn and so many beautiful memories yet to make.

And I can't wait!
