(3/3) The Old Fort - The forgotten female perspective: the Arabic fort is the oldest building in Stone Town. During the first half of the 1900s, it was used as a ladies club were women would socialize and play  sport without the gaze of the man. This is because of its 8m high walls. 
It is now has an amphitheater and is one of the main tourist attractions by @adapt2020_samke

(2/3) Hamamni Baths - the forgotten Female perspective: built between 1870 and 1880 for the sultan. They were used by both male and female, but at separate hours of the day.  Women felt safe and at ease in the space because it was an enclosed space to socialize 
The Baths are now a tourist attraction by @adapt2020_samke

(1/3) The Cinema-the forgotten female perspective: the Cinema culture that allowed women to socialize and court with potential suitors. Women also had female only screenings (called ‘zananas’), in which they would watch films such as ‘Mother India’, ‘The Man who Knew too Much’, and Gandhi.

The space is now used by a group of old me that watch old Bollywood movies by @adapt2020_samke
