Our recent post stirred up a lot of conversation and we expected that.

Here’s where we actually stand. The average American player is still the best in the world, the numbers don’t lie. But the average American player could be even better with a development system that prioritizes IQ and in game application alongside the competition and exposure that America already does better than anyone.

It doesn’t have to be one or the other. That’s the whole point of the Blended Development Approach.
Swipe through to see what we mean. by @adaptacademymtnstate

More games isn’t the same as more development. And if you’ve been doing the AAU circuit, you already know it.

2 practices a week. 3-4 games every weekend. That ratio isn’t built for growth .

Real development happens when athletes get structured reps, honest feedback, and time to actually fix what’s not working. The games are where you show it, not build it.

ADAPT Academy was designed around that philosophy. 70% practice. 30% games. Because when game time comes, your athlete should be ready to showcase improvement…not just show up. by @adaptacademymtnstate

European players don’t play AAU, yet they’re dominating the NBA draft every year.

The difference isn’t talent — it’s training philosophy.

While American kids chase trophies and travel every weekend, European players spend years mastering fundamentals and basketball IQ in stable, development-focused environments.

Save this if you’re ready to think beyond the American travel ball system.

ADAPT Academy was well represented in this early season EPAC match up between @smhshoops vs @whspatriotsmbb

We’ve been blessed to spend a ton of time working collectively and individually with these players and are proud of the hard work put in over time. It’s showing up on the court this season!
