The Divine Mother has always been Chinmoyee, the eternal, formless, and omnipresent. Yet, every year, during the sacred days of Ashwin, we seek to welcome her into our world in her Mrinmoyee form, giving shape to the divine through our faith, devotion, and the rituals we cherish.

Though her presence is everywhere, the process of manifesting her in clay is deeply personal. Each of us, according to our own capacity and through our own chosen medium, tries to give form which is ineffable.

And for this manifestation to begin, there must be a seed. To me, that seed is pure devotion, unwavering faith, and the humble belief that she will grace us with her full divine presence.

With this faith in my heart, I offer my little effort to the Divine Mother. A handful of clay, a few humble gestures, and personal conversation slowly, quietly, and with love.

This is how far the manifestation has come in our Chatterjee family’s Durga Puja tradition. The form is still unfolding, but the devotion behind it has been there all along. 🙏🌺

When the barbaric Abhaya case shook Kolkata, the city rose in protest. I wanted to help the family but couldn't do anything. There was a quiet guilt and a deep urge to respond. I made a promise to myself.
When the right time comes, I will do something.
I believe
this is that time

Sculpted the Devi of Knowledge, Art, and Wisdom for another year of cultural celebration. Miniature in form but infinite in grace. Every detail shaped with devotion. May her blessings feel the world with true Knowledge and love at the time when the world is going through the most turmoil phase.

There was no concrete plan of worshipping Lord Ganesha this year, yet somewhere in a quiet corner of my mind, the thought of devotion lingered. On the evening of the 26th, I shared this thought with my beloved wife. She gently began sculpting the base of the idol, with her own fragmented but heartfelt artistic qualities.

Seeing the germination, I couldn't resist myself to dive into giving form to the formless energy. Even amidst constant doubts and the race against time, it felt as though he himslef chose to take the form. And what emerged was nothing short of grace.

To give form to the formless and then bow before him is sheer blissful experience. It was not just an act of creation, but strengthening the bond with the divine. 🙏✨

The sheer ecstasy of breathing life into creation—the journey from sculpting an aesthetic form to infusing life into it, until you see the very same life reflected in its eyes

It's a commissioned artwork. A huge thanks to @abhijitshirsath for the trust and opportunity.Being in my professional animation practices, it became very difficult to reconnect with the traditional medium and tools of art practices. A practice with which I started my journey since childhood, was almost taken a backseat in my life. Thus when I got this opportunity, I hesitated at first to accept it, but then I also love challenging myself and my skills.

I was asked to making this painting on a 4x3 ft canvas. Without having a regular practices, it was little challenging for me to go through the process of an art and get it done. I meditated and immersed myself fully, reflecting deeply on the subject and the results speaks for itself.

Note: The Artwork draws inspiration from a piece shared by the client.
