Our Pennsylvania Chapter had an awesome opportunity to help introduce women to the outdoors! 🏹🌲 On September 12th, 7 women, including 3 PA Chapter members, came together to present at the Women’s Intro to the Outdoors event hosted by Heritage Baits & Lures, one of our ADC sponsors. The day covered a little bit of everything: turkey hunting, waterfowl hunting, hiking and camping, bass and trout fishing, trapping, the holistic properties of calendula and how to make an antibiotic salve, gun safety, and shooting. ADC PA Chapter President Chastity shared her knowledge on turkey hunting, Eastern VP Kayla covered waterfowl hunting, and PA Chapter member Kasey talked about bass and trout fishing. And one of the best parts? Three young ladies joined in and were eager to learn everything they could! This is what we love about ADC. #membersharemonday Our good friends at Eastern Canadian Outfitters were generous enough to donate a 4 night fishing trip for two for the Northeast Chapter Banquet fundraising efforts earlier this year and our very own ADC sister Liz from Connecticut was lucky enough to have her name drawn for the trip! Liz said that she had the trip of a lifetime and had nothing but amazing things to say about ECO and their operation. They caught lots of fish and enjoyed 4 nights in Senneterre, Quebec off the grid fishing for walleye and pike! Watching women step out of their bubble and try new things is everything we work so hard for and seeing these photos put smiles on our faces! "I won this trip through American Daughters of Conservation- NE Chapter , and while I was so excited for the opportunity, I honestly had no idea what to expect. Kayla and I stepped far outside our comfort zones for a remote getaway that turned into so much more than a fishing trip. From the 12–15 hour drive each way, including 2–3 hours on a remote dirt road just to reach the landing for the boat ride to a quiet island on Lac Camachigama, to traveling in a different country and navigating the language barrier, learning to navigate the boat and fish completely on our own, and even figuring out how to clean and cook the fish we caught - every part of the experience was unforgettable. We caught plenty of walleye and pike, and were able to bring some walleye home to share. But more than anything, I’m thankful for the opportunity to slow down - to unplug, be present, and truly take in the beauty God created. I felt His presence in so many moments and felt covered during times of uncertainty. I’m leaving this adventure with a heart full of peace and gratitude for an experience I’ll never forget. I’m so incredibly grateful for everyone at Eastern Canadian Outfitters. They made us feel so welcomed and supported, and you can truly see how passionate they are about what they do. This place is truly a gem, and words don’t do justice to its beauty or the experience we had there." #adconserve #inspirehuntpreserve #womendefendingthehunt by @adconserve
