Archie Update!

Our dog Archie went through a very tough medical situation during the last week, going in and out of differents vets, seeing specialists and being hospitalized for several days.

With all the consultations, tests, x-rays, ultrasounds, medication and even a surgery (she’s gonna have a big tummy scar to show off at the dog park!), we are in the position where we need to ask help from our community to help with the vet bills.

With Archie being back home and slowly going up the hills (thanks for everyones thoughts and care!!), we decided to go forward with the raffle! 🏆🏆

The link to buy your raffles tickets ✨

If you wish to make a donation and skip paying the taxes, please etransfer Charlie charliemarineau@hotmail.com with the name of the artist you want raffle tickets for!

We wish to thanks all of the people that checked in on us, from close or afar.
It takes a community to go through hardship and everyone really showed up.

If you can’t donate! Please consider sharing!

Last session of the year and I’m finally knocking off a huge milestone in my skate journey…RAILS!!!

I’m a true and true bowl skater and I never thought I’d get over my fear of rails. I can do flips and switch ups in a bowl but rails felt impossible. But here I am!

I built up my confidence slowly over the years.

1. A few months ago I started riding onto rails by doing rainbow rails. Jumping was the scariest part for me so I decided not to focus on it

2. I normalized stepping onto rails and ignored the idea of jumping on. I slowly sped up my step on until it felt like I was skipping on.

3. I practiced little by little. I would stop if I felt too afraid. The key was building confidence and only skating rails when I felt empowered. Frustration wasn’t helping me progress.

4. I only skated the smallest rails I could find.

5. I stopped doing frontside or backside because it wasn’t clicking so I decided to try 50/50s and mizo instead because those made more sense to me.

I hope these tips could help you learn, and I’m curious was helped you overcome your rail fears!
