i’ve been home for a little over a week now, and I think I’ve been avoiding writing this because I don’t know how to fully put it into words.

this trip felt like a lot of things the Lord has been building in me for a long time finally coming into focus. I’ve always loved tanzania, but this time it felt different. it wasn’t just familiar or comfortable… it felt weighty. I couldn’t just see things and move on. everything stayed with me.

being in the village especially changed something in me. life there slows everything down whether you want it to or not. you’re walking everywhere, you’re sitting with people in their homes, and you’re present in a way that’s hard to replicate anywhere else. because of that, I started seeing differently. not just the obvious need, but the people themselves!! their stories, their strength, and their everyday reality. it made everything feel more human, more personal, and harder to ignore.

throughout the whole trip, I felt the Lord moving in really intentional ways. He was already at work, and i was just stepping into it.

there’s one moment I keep going back to. the girl in the second picture next to me was sitting on the side of the road when we walked by. she was on the phone, and I didn’t want to interrupt her, so I kept going. a minute later, she got my attention and asked if we could take a picture because she had never met an american before. that turned into a conversation. she’s new to the area, and completely on her own with no job, no family close, and no community. I got to share the gospel with her in a way that actually connected to her real life. she’s muslim, and I don’t take lightly that she stayed in that conversation with me or that she even gave me the space to share the gospel with her. there were a lot of questions in the moment, not argumentative, but honest.

this didn’t feel like a trip. it felt like direction.

february felt like an answered prayer! 💗🌸🌷🎀

but truthfully i don’t know if i expected answered prayers to feel this tender…
every time I talk about what God is doing in my life or where He’s leading me, I feel on the verge of tears because it feels real and vulnerable in the best way. i feel like i’m stepping into things i’ve carried quietly with Him for years

everyone jokes about turning 25 butttttt it really does feel different. i feel grounded in who i am, more certain of what He’s spoken over me, and unafraid to step forward even when it’s messy or uncertain

if this is what growth feels like… honest, stretching, hard, but full of joy, then I’m really grateful to be growing
