Senior Spring Show Solo

🎶: Ode to a love lost
choreographed by: @tracyaschneider

This solo is dedicated to lots of situations relating to my year, heartbreak, mental health, and leaving all of my love on that stage for the very last time as a Crimson Cavalette. This solo is very heart hitting for me with all of the crazy downs that happened all so very instant and fast this year. I have lost a lot of things but most of all I have lost the love and confidence and self worth in me. With this solo my teacher Mrs. Tracy helped choreograph my story and I could not be any more grateful. To have a teacher who was with me since the very start of my journey and all the way to the end of my journey is something so special and what makes this solo even more better than ever. This will definitely not be the end of my dance career but definitely an end to dancing on an auditorium stage. With dance I express all of my thoughts and feelings when dancing and this solo was just perfect to let all of what I was holding onto and feeling so very deeply out. The start of 2025 was definitely rough but with dance it was my escape and my safe place and I could not thank my family, friends, and dance teachers for being by my side. This year will definitely be a lesson of healing a heart that was broken but dance is truly what healed me and having such amazing people by my side. Thank you dance for defining and shaping me into the person I am I could not be anymore grateful to have this ability to do what I love. by @addison.toys.dancer

This solo was one that hit my heart most. Last year I was not able to perform at nationals and this year I wanted to be able to take that step onto that podium and win not just a trophy but to prove that I was deserving and to gain confidence in myself, confidence that I had lost over the course of this last year. Sadly this year nationals was cut short due to the hurricane but before that happened I was able to dance this solo one last time representing DDC. This solo had lots of different movements of the body, all the way from the bottom of my toes to the tips of my fingers. Mrs. Tracy I can’t thank you enough for always believing in me and for your love and support every step of the way these past 4 years. I love you Mrs. Tracy!! by @addison.toys.dancer
