Imposter Syndrome is defined as “ a psychological experience where you doubt your success and feel like a fraud, even when you have clear proof that you are competent and qualified.“

But what I’ve come to learn throughout the years is it’s something that YOU create. So in some way, enough creativity lives in your mind to make this false narrative to doubt yourself. Therefore, you’re still creating. Just not in the space you want. I’ve been in the space for a very long time. Too many times, but I tried fighting it more than embracing it. The truth is that you don’t have to fight with what you truly know about yourself and what people actually believe about you. Just create. It might be terrible. It might be great. Buttttt, it exists in the world. That’s all that matters. by @addisonwright

Reintroducing myself here.
I’m Addison, a filmmaker, writer, and photographer.

For years, this page was mostly a portfolio. It showed the work, but not always the life shaping it. I stayed private and kept a lot to myself. Sometimes even the work.

Trying something different now.
More life. More art. More honesty.
More of what makes me, me.

Keeping myself honest. by @addisonwright

I’ve been sitting with posting this for a little over a week, trying to find the right words to etch this moment in history. I was grateful to see so much of my family all together in my new home and later be surrounded by so much love with my friends. I learned this evening that friends are family. I’ve always known this but to feel it is another thing. I think I gave three speeches that night but I was just so overwhelmed with joy that I had to mention everything that was on my mind in those moments. We move through life with so much on our minds and hearts and rarely get the chance to stop and breathe. I did this day.

This day will forever remain special to me. by @addisonwright

Grateful to share I’ve been awarded a 2025 artist grant from the City of Chicago + DCASE 🖤

This story’s been with me for a minute — lingering, shifting, waiting to be told in a way that actually felt honest. I’ve questioned it, rewritten it, stepped away from it… and every time I come back, it teaches me something new.

It lives in the quiet spaces — the ones we usually try to fill. And through every version, it’s been changing me. My hope is that when it’s finally done, I’ll be able to look at it and see how far I’ve come. That’s the goal.

Production starts this fall and I’ll be sharing ways to support soon! But today, I’m just sitting in the moment — grateful. For the city. For the folks who believe in stories like this. And for the quiet reminders of who I’m becoming.

What is a father?
Someone who shows up.
Someone who protects, guides, listens, and leads — even when life is heavy.

Today, we honor all the men who’ve stood in the gap — fathers, stepfathers, uncles, grandfathers, mentors, big brothers, coaches, and community leaders.

You may not always get the recognition, but your presence is powerful.
Your love is healing.
Your leadership leaves a legacy.

This Father’s Day, we give thanks for the ones who raise, restore, and remind us what love looks like in action.

A goal this year was to get back to challenging myself artistically. Exploring materials and application. Years of prioritizing street murals at scale continues to be a great part of my practice. However, adjusting back into fine art has been both taxing and rewarding. WORTH IT

I look forward to celebrating that recent exploration and progress with community. Works from the past year and a collection of recent smaller works to represent where I’d like to go forward in my practice for the foreseeable future. A new beginning.

Pull up to the opening of RESET, this Friday (7/19)
