🌳 Is it just coloring in our PLA Wood?

Not quite. 👀
It’s actually a blend containing 40% real wood fibers, giving your prints a beautiful surface finish that behaves remarkably like real wood. 🪵

✨ Sand it easily
🎨 Apply wood stain or other colors
🪚 Work it almost like real wood

In our testing, solvent-based wood stains such as Herdins worked really well, with good penetration into the printed surface.

And here’s a heads-up: it smells wonderful while printing. 😍🌲 Your workshop might just start feeling like a woodshop. 🪵

Test, test and test some more!

Our printers are pretty much running 24/7 to test and verify our materials across different machines, settings and setups.

And yes, we have ready-to-download profiles for especially Prusa and Bambu Lab printers on our website.

Smart solutions with 3D-printing and recycled materials 💡♻️

What if installing a sensor more than 4 metres up could take less than 10 seconds?

For @smartabyar , this was more than a design challenge. It was a cost challenge.

Installing sensors on lamp posts traditionally requires a scissor lift and at least two people. With multiple installations, the costs can quickly add up. 💸

3D-printing made it possible to develop a custom solution quickly and cost-effectively, while staying agile and adapting the design along the way.

The result? A sensor can now be installed from the ground, more than four metres up, in under 10 seconds. And by using recycled material, the solution becomes a win-win for both Smarta Byar and the municipalities they work with. ♻️

This is where 3D-printing really makes a difference: turning a specific problem into a practical, cost-effective solution.

Why rPETG? ♻️

Choosing the right material was an important part of Smarta Byar's IoT project.

When developing solutions for municipalities, recycled materials can be more than just a sustainability choice. Public procurement can include requirements and criteria that favour recycled materials, making the choice of material an important part of the solution. 💡

For @smartabyar , add:north's rPETG also had to perform in the real world. Their sensors have been installed outdoors for three years, from Sweden to the south coast of Spain, where UV exposure is significantly higher. ☀️ A recycled material, from a Swedish filament manufacturer, that has proven itself in real-world applications.
