to me, showing has never been about the buckles, banners, ribbons, or even the wins. it’s about everything that happens before you ever step into the ring. it’s about the hard work, the dedication, the early mornings, the late nights, and all the hours spent in the barn working with animals that become so much more than just a project. it’s about the lessons you learn through both the wins and the losses, because every single one teaches you something.
i’ve been lucky enough to show some amazing livestock over the years, and i’ll forever be grateful for every opportunity i’ve been given. i’m even more grateful for my family, friends, mentors, and everyone who’s stood by my side, cheered me on, and helped me along the way. i wouldn’t be where i am without all of you.
this year was one i’ll never forget. i was blessed to come home with grand champion overall fullblood doe, reserve overall dairy wether, grand overall myotonic wether, reserve senior fullblood myotonic doe, reserve junior fullblood myotonic doe, and multiple born & raised banners. while i’m incredibly proud of those accomplishments, they aren’t what i’ll remember most years from now. what i’ll remember are the countless hours in the barn, the laughs with my family and friends, the lessons my animals taught me, and the memories we made together.
shows don’t always go the way you want them to, and that’s okay. if you walk out of that ring knowing you gave your all and worked your heart out with an animal you’re proud of, then you’ve already won. no judge can take away the time, effort, memories, and bond you built with that animal.
to anyone just starting out, remember that everyone begins somewhere. don’t compare your journey to someone else’s. keep working, keep learning, and never stop believing in yourself. the ribbons will eventually fade, but the friendships, memories, lessons, and family time you gain through showing livestock will stay with you forever.
here’s to eight unforgettable years at the hendricks county fair. no matter what happens in the show ring, i’ll always be thankful for this lifestyle and everyone who’s been a part of it. here’s to making even more memories in the years to come. by @addysonknotts

Well heaven gained one of my very best friends today . I will never forget all the talks at the kitchen table, all the stair cleaning, cat feeding, long Walmart trips, everyday afterschool candy lol. you will forever be one of my favorite people. I hope I gave you just as much love as you gave me growing up. watching you go was definitely the hardest thing I’ve had to do, but ik you were ready to go. I would relive you trying to bite me or telling me I made you a “piss poor breakfast” all over again in a heart beat. I will love you forever by @addysonknotts

Mom, on your special day, I find myself reflecting on everything you’ve done for me, and I realize that there are no words that could truly capture the depth of my gratitude and love for you. You’ve been my constant, my biggest supporter, and my safe haven in times of uncertainty. Through every joy, every hardship, every moment of doubt, you’ve been there, holding my hand and offering wisdom, comfort, and unconditional love. I know I haven’t always been the easiest person to deal with. There have been times when I’ve given you trouble, when I’ve acted out or made decisions that didn’t make sense, and I know that hasn’t always been easy for you to understand or accept. But I hope you know that every struggle, every moment of frustration, was always coming from a place of love, even when I didn’t know how to express it properly. I’ve been learning, growing, and figuring things out, and through it all, you’ve never given up on me.
You’ve stood by my side, no matter how many mistakes I made, no matter how many times I felt like I had lost my way. When I made poor choices, when I didn’t listen, when I stumbled, you were always there to pick me up, encourage me, and remind me of the better version of myself that I sometimes lost sight of. Your patience with me, your ability to forgive, and your belief in me— even when I didn’t believe in myself— have shaped me in ways I can’t fully describe. You’ve taught me what resilience looks like, how to keep moving forward even when the road gets tough, and how to always lead with love and kindness, no matter the circumstances. Happy birthday, Mom. Thank you for being my everything— my protector, my guide, and my greatest cheerleader. I love you more than words can ever express, and I am so proud to be your child. You deserve a lifetime of happiness, and I’ll be here, doing everything I can to make sure you know just how much you mean to me.
