Thank you for being the best dad I could ask for. I love you endlessly♾️Thank you for sharing your love of hockey with me and giving me the opportunity to have my teenage years be filled with hockey games where we shared the best memories. From pulling all nighters, to going to the Stadium Series in 20 degree weather, Jersey was our happy place. I am so proud of you for fighting during these last couple of months, I know it wasn’t easy. I’ll miss the light you brought into every room, you always filled the room with laughter or some random movie, book, or music fact. I will miss going to Devils games together and watching our favorite shows. Thank you for supporting me through everything. You went to every swim meet even if you had to drive 6 hours in one day, and seeing you in the stands always made me so happy.

I miss you so much dad, rest in peace.🕊️

I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Iona University!! First, I want to thank Coach Nick and Coach Mauro for giving me this amazing opportunity to continue to do what I love at a Division 1 level. I would like to thank all my friends, coaches, and teammates who have guided me throughout my journey, especially Coach Jerry. Without you, none of this would’ve been possible. Lastly, I would like to thank my family, my sister for being the reason I started swimming, my mom for constantly supporting me no matter what, and my dad watching from heaven. Thank you to everyone for shaping me into the swimmer I am today. Can’t wait to start!

5,881 days with you, 365 without.

One year ago today, I lost my hero. This year has been one of the hardest and best years of my life. It kills me every day that I have to live without you, dad. I will never forget the feeling of getting the call that you weren’t going to make it through the night and being at your side while you took your last breath.

I wish I could thank you again for being my dad. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without your guidance and support. I strive to be half as strong and brave as you were. It’s so hard to wrap my head around the fact that I will never see you again, never hug you again, or never talk to you again.

I miss going to Devils games with you. The seat next to me will always feel empty, and in every memory I make, there is always someone missing. Thank you for sharing your passion for sports with me, I know you are watching every game beside me. This was all because of you, and now it’s all for you.

There are so many things I want to tell you and so many more events you will miss. A hole will forever be in my heart, but I hope to carry your legacy on every day. I will be grieving you for longer than I got to be your daughter.

Every time you hear a Bruce song, go to New Jersey, or watch Star Wars, I hope you think of Michael Tolan and the man he was.

See you in another lifetime.

I love you, dad.
