Explore Geographies of Re-Union, our main exhibition featuring works by Farrah Berrou, Rabab Chamseddine, Adeeb Farhat, Sama Beydoun, Fatima Jomaa, Caroline Hatem, and Mona Ayoub.

Through personal archives, visual installations, video worlds, and communal textile murals, these artists explore land, belonging, loss, and the reconstruction of fragmented narratives.

"احكيلي يا جنوب" مكفّي معكن/م شوي بعد 🌿
إذا بعد ما زرتوا المعرض، أو عبالكن/م تشوفوه من جديد، بعد في عشرة أيام لتزوروا "احكيلي يا جنوب" ببيت بيروت، لغاية الأحد ٢٧ أيلول ٢٠٢٦. 🌿

بس ما بتخلص الحكاية هون، لأنّ المشوار بعدو مكمّل...

جزء من الأعمال والتركيبات رح ينتقل إلى "مرسح" في طرابلس، وينعرض هناك ابتداءً من ٩ تشرين الأول ٢٠٢٦.

أما الرسائل، الصور والذكريات اللي شاركتوها معنا، فرح تضلّ ببيت بيروت، بانتظار كل زيارة جديدة.

Ενόψει του γενοκτονικού αυτού πολέμου που έχει εξαπολύσει η σιωνιστική οντότητα στον Λίβανο και στην Παλαιστίνη για άλλη μια φορά, δημοσιεύουμε τη συνέντευξη που πραγματοποιήσαμε με τον Adeeb Farhat (@adeebfarhat ) για τη διάσωση της μνήμης και των αρχείων στον Νότιο Λίβανο από τον μαχόμενο λαό του νότιου Λιβάνου.

Η συζήτησή μας επικεντρώθηκε στην αρχειοθέτηση της ιστορίας του νότιου Λιβάνου, της κατοχής και της αντίστασης, αλλά και στον τρόπο με τον οποίο τα ίδια τα αρχεία μπορούν να λειτουργήσουν ως πράξεις μνήμης, ανθεκτικότητας και αντίστασης. Από παράνομα έντυπα της αντίστασης κατά την κατοχή του νότου από την σιωνιστική οντότητα (1982-2000) και οικογενειακά αρχεία μέχρι προσωπικά αντικείμενα, απομεινάρια της κατοχής μετά την απελευθέρωση, φωτογραφίες και προφορικές μαρτυρίες, το έργο του Adeeb επιχειρεί να διασώσει και να «ξαναζωντανέψει» ιστορίες που συχνά απουσιάζουν από τις κυρίαρχες αφηγήσεις -όπως μαρτυρίες γυναικών, είτε μιλάνε για τον Νότο χωρίς τον Νότο.

Η αρχειοθέτηση δεν είναι ουδέτερη πράξη, ούτε η ιστορία. Το ποιος διασώζει, τι διασώζεται και ποιος αφηγείται την ιστορία έχει βαθιά πολιτική σημασία , ιδιαίτερα όταν πρόκειται για ιστορίες κατοχής, αντίστασης, εκτοπισμού, εθνοκάθαρσης, γενοκτονίας και απελευθέρωσης.

رح نلتقي من جديد بـ "احكيلي" 🌿

بعد استراحة الصيف، منرجع منفتح بيت بيروت يوم الأربعاء ٢ أيلول.

"احكيلي يا جنوب" رح يكون معكن/م ويستقبلكن/م لـ ٣ أسابيع إضافية، لغاية ٢٠ أيلول ٢٠٢٦، إلى جانب معرض "خط زمني" للجنة أهالي المفقودين والمخفيين قسرًا.

يبدو... عنجد رح ينقطع المتحف هاليومين. 🤍

ابتداءً من ٢٧ تموز، بياخد بيت بيروت استراحة صيفية قصيرة.

منرجع منلتقي ٢ أيلول لنكمل الأسابيع الأخيرة من معرض "احكيلي يا جنوب"، ونستقبلكم/ن بمعارض جديدة وبرنامج ثقافي جديد.

منتمنّى لإلنا وإلكن/م شوية راحة... لناخد نفس، ونرجع كلنا جاهزين لنكمّل الحكاية.

إلى اللقاء في أيلول. 🌿

Looks like the museum really is taking a little break. 🤍

Starting July 27, Beit Beirut will be closed for a short summer break.

We'll be back on September 2 for the final three weeks of Hkeeli Ya Jnoub, alongside new exhibitions and a new cultural programme.

Adeeb Farhat (@adeebfarhat) has spent over two decades collecting personal archives, oral testimonies, and fragments of Israel’s occupation of South Lebanon. The archive — personal letters, recordings, rare periodicals, newspapers, photographs, bullets, maps, even rolling paper — tells stories from the brutal occupation, so communities remember what it means to hold on to sovereignty and land.

In this interview by Dana Hourany (@danahourany) the archivist reflects on the responsibility and politics of preserving these materials for collective memory. He speaks of the personal cost of holding onto painful history, the constant struggle to safely store and digitize fragile material, and the weight of caring for documents that can put the people behind them at risk.

The interview also traces the occupation into the current war through “Hkeeli Ya Jnoub” (Speak to Me, South) an exhibition Adeeb co-organized, on view at Beit Beirut (@hkeeli.beitbeirut) until July 26.
