When @gbadamosi__idris called me;

“Mr. Yinka, I want to do crime, but I don’t just want to be shooting gun up and down o. I want a REAL story.”

Okay na, e be like say this thief wan get fear of God small 😂

So we got talking. We went back and forth, pulled ideas apart, rebuilt them, argued over some things, agreed on others, and eventually, the story began to take shape.

Then I sent the first draft.

I titled it AKANBI AKANDA.

“Nooo, Mr. Yinka, I don’t like that title.”

In my mind, I was like… there is NO way I am allowing you to change this title. 😂

Because somewhere in me, I already knew what the title would do.

And today, that same title has become a viral sensation.

But beyond the virality, beyond the noise, beyond the crime and everything you think you know from the surface, Akanbi Akanda is a deeply layered story.

It is not just another crime movie.

This one came from conversations, disagreements, rewrites, instincts and a genuine desire to tell a crime story with something to say.

And seeing people connect with the title, the story and the world we created?

Beautiful !

We are not done yet, there is a lot more underneath.

And trust me…

We are just scratching the surface.

So anytime you see my producer for road, scream Akanbi Akanda 😂 You fit ask him for money too. by @adefamoo
