So what did I learn from this internal fly through with the #avata360 ? No ammount of deflicker in post can reduce the led lights in a cinema's chandelier.

Also getting paid in choc tops is totally worth it regardless of how much time I spent on this footage because not only was it so much fun to fly in and around the @odeonstarcinema I have gained a wellspring of knowledge for indoor flying with a 360 camera that does not have a ND filter.

I was genuinely impressed with how easy it was to fly this platform inside and even though it does not have a gain and expo control manipulation I was still able to fly at a smooth steady pace even around the #snackbar

This cinema is such a iconic building in semaphore, am super keen to see The Mummy being played later on this month too

It might not be the most engaging, click worthy video but is in my opinion the first night time video taken of the city of #Adelaide shot with the #mavic4pro

My heart rate was racing flying tonight for many reasons

Haven't flown at night for ages
Haven't flown near the city for a while
Maiden flight of my new tow

But I figured what is the point of having a night rating and a drone designed to perform at night if you're not going to fly it to its capacity???

Have to tweak a few settings but it flew very smooth, you could sense the control and power of this beast. Oh I'm going to have fun getting the handle of the new work horse of this aerial photographer. taken in Adelaide, South Australia by @adelaidedrones

Mucking about reworking and dare I say improving the look of my work but reaching a stage where I'm overworking the footage!

I did three different versions and it was really eye opening to see the contrasts between the three, thinking "I can't see a diffence" when doing it then look at finished products it gives you some serious perspective when you step back.

This is where I need to trust myself, trust my abilities and save a butt load of time and stop trying to polish a 💩

Might have to look at my old barossa footage next or KI perhaps? Perish the thought I take off my old man cardigan and go outside and shoot some new stuff right?? taken in Colonel Light Statue by @adelaidedrones

Earlier this year when visiting the North island the weather gods were not smiling. I think maybe, just maybe I flew for a total of 10 minutes.

This trip to the South Island there was a lot more time dedicated to capturing the sheer unadulterated beauty that is New Zealand.

The sun was going down over the mountains to the right but I wanted to capture where I was staying near Lake Tekapo.

Sadly caught a dreaded lurgy on the last day or so and it's take me a week to start taking a look at what I captured.

So I'm bucking my own trend and showing me working rather than showing my work.

It's not lost on me that this is a spectacular part of the world but it was totally lost on me that this was my background while capturing some shots for @amazingaerialagency while also for myself, maybe some new prints to go on the wall.

Holiday mode Luke is so more chilled than at home dealing with life stresses Luke. I should just stay on holidays.

Lets try this again but with the music working this time

🏒 is one of the fastest sports out there but to add to that you have knives on your feet on a slippery hard surface that to say it's unforgiving is an understatement!

Now on top of all that, in Australia 🇦🇺 hockey is not as popular as it is in other countries so there isn't the money in this sport that there should be. So these athletes compete on a national professional level but have to juggle jobs, training and regular interstate travel to follow their passion!

South Australians should get behind their team, buy tickets to their games, wear the merchandise, support the adrenaline anyway they can. Including silly old me putting together a reel to give you guys a glimpse into what it takes to be on the ice.

M'kay!!!

To anyone that actually knows me, to know that I sat in a public space with my eyes covered being 💯 % vulnerable & defenceless, they'd be in freaking shock. So first and foremost, thank you Ryan and your own fury safety supervisor for being my spotter. And a massive thank you to @adladrenaline for allowing me to film your warm up and start of practise.

The worry of OONP was lessened significantly given my subjects are wearing helmets and the drone weighs less than a puck that flies at these gladiators way faster than I was willing to fly indoors.

I wanted to release a little #behindthescenes vid as a teaser to what I'm putting together for the team.

The ice used to be my happy place, albeit how much I sucked but I loved every second of it so was so nice to combine my old respite with my new one.

So this is why you do things properly! And this is why quality legal work is expensive.

When working with flying cameras you need to plan, you need to have a team and that team needs to know what they're doing.

If I didn't know that rubbish truck was coming down semaphore rd then it could have at best fucked up the drone and at worst caused a traffic accident.

What's very cool is with the 360 camera in post I can make a cool little video with it but if you're going to do stuff with drones around people, cars or in buildings, do it properly and make cool stuff, not balls it up being a cowboy and be dangerous. by @adelaidedrones

And now back to our regularly scheduled programing.

I think I'm my own worst critic when it comes to work and while I'm a skilled drone operator & now skilled editor and colourist, be stuffed if I know how to make "engaging" content to get ya to hold on to your visuals for more than 3 seconds.

Who knew a middle aged broken veteran couldn't be good at everything hey?...... well me I knew that but you know it too.

In the meantime enjoy how freaking easy it is to fly the #djiavata #avata360 flying through the "R" , that was a first take in failing light. #hangoutwithavata by @adelaidedrones

So I know when I requested if there were any music requested, the brief I got was no metal or techno and to be fair my techno days are long behind me in a 90's vault of doof doof regret and I personally don't like metal but this "metal version" of this lil number really tickled my fancy.

@mariam.inframe was the first model I've worked with in I'd say a year, she & I had only met 30 minutes prior on @visual.soda 's salt lake tour but we gel'd quite well straight away and while the still shots were not seductive or saltry in any way there was a real intimacy to the feel of the shots which I really enjoyed.

Would I go back to portrait work? No because I'm a broken Vet with waaay to many bats in the belfry to do that again. Would I work with Jordan again, you bet your bile duct I would.

Amazingly I've dropped followers after these set of wonderous models filmed with the #mavic4pro but viewership is way up. And do you know what that means? Sod all!! I had fun making these and I hope you had fun watching them. by @adelaidedrones

I'm running out of nice things to say about these wonderful women I worked with a couple of weeks ago without risking sounding insincere by repeating myself but this experience was nothing but positive working with @mkshepherd05

I do have some FPV footage this same location which will go up eventually but who knew...... footage of beautiful women in beautiful locations are popular and are feeding the digital diety taken in Lake Tyrrell by @adelaidedrones

Glad people liked the funny and a tiny insight into what goes on in model shoots.

You only see BTS when there's more than one shooter, which is normally what happens when I shoot given my warm sparkling people person external visage so was great to see that I managed to capture that moment that I'd completely forgotten about.

Oh and I totally forgot that the astounding @kizzamayy also had fuzzy ear warmers on. I mean she was so totally rugged up. taken in Lake Tyrell, Sea Lake by @adelaidedrones
