REUPLOAD After AI snuck its way into a stock photo/graphics set I used for a video, I had to delete everything and start from almost scratch. But it's worth losing the views if it means keeping my corner of the internet free of generated assets. New version of "Everybody Wants" up now on Youtube! Let me know what you think. Bless ❤️ **** #collage #cello #folkmusic #immigration #noai by @adelas_cello

It’s out! AH!!! “Cello, Again” the EP is out now on BandCamp, Tidal, Pandora, and most streaming platforms. THANK YOU to Rick and Tom for recording and mixing, my wonderful musician friends tagged in this post, and all of the incredible people I met at Summer Songs who inspire me. You will not find the work on Spotify or Amazon Music: I no longer want to associate with either brand and their harmful behaviors. Take a listen and let me know what you think? 🫣 k thanks byeeee ****** #chicagomusic #cello #altfolk #singersongwriter #newmusic by @adelas_cello

In honor of spooky season, I'm doing something scary.... organizing my CD collection! 🤣👻 Probably 80% are CDs by small label or independent artists. We're getting ready for a refresh of material on ASR, so listening and selecting songs from these albums is paramount! Kicking off my organizing by listening through the latest full album by @frenchyandthepunk . I've been a fan of these two for years now, first learning about them through the geeky convention circuit. They're rebellious and raw; they're Gothic and glamorous when they want to be too. Perfect to throw on your Halloween playlists this week! Frenchy from the duo is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Please keep this incredible warrior in your thoughts, donate money to their GoFundMe if you can to help cover medical expenses, and support their music in all its forms. Stay tuned for an update on new music and shows this week! -Adela, Co-founder Amplisounds Radio **** #cdcollection #independentmusic #radio #gothmusic by @adelas_cello

Confession: as far as Chicago songwriters go, I've always been more of a Steve Goodman girl than a John Prine girl. But as Chicago turns into a John Prine love fest over the next few days to honor the late singer's 80th birthday, I figured I'd get more familiar with the man that more and more of my friends seem to be falling in love with as they get older. In my evening commute yesterday, I listened intently through the "Bruised Orange" album. This morning, at the behest of WFMT's folk queen Marilyn Rea Beyer , I am ripping the newly remastered "Found Dogs" vinyl. "Ain't hurting nobody" and "Fish and Whistle" made me laugh and think. "All the Way With You" and "Lake Marie" tugged at my heart. And then there's the simple song I've known from childhood that feels more precious every year - "How Lucky Can One Man Get." I still don't think I could call him my favorite songwriter. But the older I get, the longer I listen, the more I admire how accurately John Prine captured the heart of the American Midwest. You hear grit and stubbornness in his songs: everyday people facing the unexpected, wry twists of fate, and finding humor in less than ideal circumstances. If you haven't listened to John Prine yet, I recommend starting perhaps with one of the songs listed above. Or go out and ask someone in the crowd at one of the many John Prine celebrations this weekend, whether that's with the @The Illegal Smiles, The Old Town School, or elsewhere. The Midnight Special will be joining in the tributes from 9 pm - 12 am on the airwaves October 10th. @folkonwfmt For a list of John Prine events, check out johnprine.com ***** #johnprine #chicago #midwest #americanfolk by @adelas_cello
