i’ll post about my travels later. first i can’t help but want to stay in bed instead of savoring my last day. sending you off back home was the worst i’ve felt in a long time. how grateful i am for my life to have changed so much, for me to just be sad that someone is far from me rather than from what i’ve endured. one day, a long time ago, i asked god if that was even possible; or if i was uniquely engineered to suffer. the man at the blue mosque told us that allah gives us tests for exactly our capacity, and i hope he’s right — i’ve never felt braver, i’ve never felt more terrified. by @adelineisinaband
