What a blessing it is to be apart of something that makes it so hard to say goodbye.

If you told Freshman me that I would place 5th at State only losing to the Runner-up, I wouldn’t believe you. Starting out on the boy’s wrestling team my sophomore year with 3 girls, to going in next season as a sanctioned IHSAA sport with 9 girls, to now having almost a full line up is insane. That being said, being able to be apart of the start of the girls program at North Posey is one of my highest accomplishments. Even though I started later than most girls and my Junior year was cut short due to my back injury, these past 3 years have been the most impactful of my life.

While winning and being in shape is nice, the people is what makes the sport. I am involved in many other sports, clubs, and activities and I can say there is no team, bond, or coaches like there is in wrestling. I’m not sure if it’s the blood, sweat, and tears shared that makes it all so special, but there isn’t anything else like it. It’s a Family.

I want to thank my school, my community, and team for supporting me through all the ups and downs. I also would like to thank my parents for being there in the rough times that the public eye doesn’t see. Lastly I would like to thank my coaches for all the time, money, and effort they have spent and put into me and my team just so we can do what we love.

Deciding to wrestle and step on the mat was the best decision of my life. I will forever cherish everything this sport has given to me and every moment i’ve been blessed to have.
