They came together for a beautiful pre-wedding shoot, creating memories before forever.

THE GIA 🤍

Some creative projects make you remember more than the pictures you remember the chaos behind them. 😂

The Gia is one of those projects for me.

We almost missed the 7am Ibadan train because we forgot our camera bag in the ride that brought us to the station. 😭 @itsraphealayo had to stay back, retrieve the bag, then find public transport to meet us in Abeokuta.(you can imagine the stress)

We waited almost 2 hours. Then, when he finally arrived, we somehow paid the wrong people for the location and had to negotiate all over again. 😂 ( lesson 1: never pay for a location until you’re done with your session)

And somehow, through all that stress, we still created these images.

The funniest part? I shot this entire project with a Canon 6D under a very crazy hot sun😂

Looking back, that’s what makes The Gia special to me not just the pictures, but the madness, people, stress and memories behind them.

Creative photography is actually one of the reasons I started photography, so no, I’m not stopping. I’m just taking a long break abeg Lagos has traumatized my life. 😂

I’ll be fully back to creating again outdoor again . 🤍

There’s something about black, the play of light and shadow, and the way a subject carries herself that makes editorial photography so special.

There’s something nostalgic about returning to the things that first made you fall in love with photography. 🥹

For years, editorial photography was my thing before I gradually found myself exploring portrait photography. Creating this set brought back that feeling🥹. Turns out, you can take the photographer out of editorial, but you can’t take editorial out of the photographer.

Editorial will always have a special place in my heart. 🤎
