December is a short 3 1/2 months away.

If radiant skin is your goal, then you need a really good plan for the next couple of months.

As you know, I don’t gate keep, so here is what I’m planning:
- September: microneedling with NCTF
- October: chemical peel
- November: Botox and Profhilo
- December: Profhilo and a chemical peel

Not all vitamin C serums are created equal. Back in the early 2000s, Dr Sheldon Pinnell at Duke University identified the exact formulation criteria a topical vitamin C serum needs to actually penetrate skin and deliver results. These became known as the Duke parameters:

• L-ascorbic acid concentration of 15-20%
• A pH below 3.5 (this is what allows penetration through the skin barrier)
• The addition of vitamin E and ferulic acid for antioxidant synergy and stability

SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic was formulated to meet these exact criteria, which is why it remains the gold standard nearly two decades later. It’s not marketing. It’s chemistry.

If your current vitamin C serum doesn’t meet these parameters it may be doing very little for you.

No gatekeeping — this is my actual morning skincare routine as an aesthetic doctor.

Step by step:

Cleanser: @phformula_southafrica EXFO Cleanse
Antioxidant: @skinceuticals Phloretin CF
Peptide serum: SkinCeuticals P-TIOX
Treatment serum: pH Formula AGE MD Serum
Moisturiser: pH Formula POST Moisturiser
SPF: Colorscience Flex Light Sunscreen

The one people always ask about? The P-TIOX. I inject neuromodulators for a living and I still use a topical peptide serum every single morning. That tells you everything.
