Some farewells don’t need to be announced.

They simply arrive.

Could this have been Lionel Messi’s final World Cup? Perhaps. If it was, what a story he leaves behind.

For a few beautiful days, he stood alone as the World Cup’s all-time leading goalscorer. Then, as football so often reminds us, history kept moving. Kylian Mbappé claimed the Golden Boot and surpassed that record, a symbolic passing of the torch from one extraordinary generation to the next.

That’s the thing about records.

They are borrowed.

Legends are forever.

Whether Messi returns or not, his place in football’s story was never defined by a number on a scoreboard. It was written in the millions he inspired, the impossible moments he made look ordinary, and the joy he gave to the beautiful game.

If this is goodbye…

Yep… I said it.

France may not even win third place.

Instead, England walked away with the bronze medal after one of the wildest World Cup matches you’ll ever see.

Ten goals.
England 6–4 France.

If you blinked, you probably missed another goal.

Just days after the heartbreak of letting Argentina back into the final, England responded the only way they knew how, a refusal to let another opportunity slip away.

Forget tactics for a moment.

This was pure entertainment.

End-to-end football. Chances everywhere. Defenders wondering if they were on holiday. Goalkeepers probably wishing the final whistle had come an hour earlier.

You don’t see many 6–4 scorelines at a World Cup.

England may have missed out on the final, but they leave this tournament with a bronze medal and a reminder of what made them so exciting throughout the competition: when they play without fear, they’re a joy to watch.

God often calls you forward before others understand.

Support may be scarce at the start, but obedience always gathers witnesses in time.

Walk with God long enough, and applause will catch up to faith. Moreover, it’s not about the applause but more about who you are becoming.

He’s the realest! It was so good to have breakfast with Mr. Walter Alexander. The Best boss ever, by a long shot. He gave me my first job in the US and was so patient with me. I learned a lot from him. He’s in his 80s but in his own words, he’s “still kicking it!” Such an inspiration! He’s one of the many blessings that I’m grateful for. by @adezacpal
