Hi, I'm Adi. 👋

For as long as I can remember, people have asked me the same question:

"So... which one are you?"

An opera singer? A painter? Or a writer?

The truth is... I've never been able to choose.

I fell in love with music long before I ever published a book. I spent years studying Art and learning to paint. And somewhere along the way, I realized I wanted to tell stories too.

For a long time, it felt like those parts of me were pulling in different directions.

Then I stopped trying to separate them.

Instead, I built a world where they all belong together.

A world where paintings become portals, sculptures come alive, music can reshape reality, and dance itself is magic.

Today, I get to paint my own characters, sing in my own audiobook, and write stories inspired by a lifetime spent creating.

✨ Because I've always believed one thing:

Art isn't just beautiful.

It's Magic.

──────────

📚 My debut opera-magic romantasy standalone, THE KISS OF THE NIGHTINGALE, is out now.

🎨 My next novel, THE COLORS OF RUIN, arrives in 2027.

If you love fantasy, magical art, dark academia, and following the creative process from the very beginning, I'm so happy you're here.

I've always believed that every form of Art holds a different kind of magic.

Maybe that's because I've spent my life moving between different ways of creating.

So when I started dreaming up 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝘂𝗶𝗻, I kept coming back to one question...

What if that were literally true?

The answer became the world of 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆.

A place where paintings become worlds, sculptures awaken, music can move souls, dance can reshape reality... and 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲.

If that sounds like your kind of story...

Then come wander the halls of Stellridge as I reveal its magic, mysteries, and the people who call it home.

Every Artist at Stellridge knows the Founding Scripts.

They’ve been taught for centuries. Quoted in classrooms. Written into the laws that govern Art itself.

Which is rather inconvenient if someone got them wrong. 👀

📜 For prospective students:

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝘂𝗶𝗻 is my upcoming dark
academia romantasy, coming in 2027, where 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰, artists are the most dangerous people alive, and a gifted magical painter is forced to team up with her childhood nemesis to uncover a centuries-old mystery.

Being an artist has convinced me that "normal hobbies" were never really an option.

One obsession becomes a painting. The painting becomes a story. The story somehow requires researching nineteenth-century pigments at 2 a.m.

It's a very efficient system, really.

Please make me feel less weird. 😂

What's one obsession you could happily lose an entire afternoon to?

🎨 Okay, settle an argument for me...

If magic existed, which art form would be the most dangerous?

🎻 Music?
🎨 Painting?
⚒️ Sculpting?
🩰 Dance?

I know my answer... but you'll have to wait until The Colors of Ruin to find out why. 👀

Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this...

Every draft of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘙𝘶𝘪𝘯 somehow ended up with its own soundtrack.

Usually it was just one piece of music I'd play on repeat until my brain permanently associated it with that stage of the book.

Now I'm about to start line edits... which means I'm looking for my next obsession.

What happens when you put writers on panels and give us permission to talk about all the parts of making books we usually have to figure out alone?

I suspect a dangerous amount of honesty. 👀

I’m so excited to be joining Flights of Foundry this weekend, and I would love for you to come be part of the conversations. If you’re attending, please come say hello in the chat, I’ll be much less nervous if I recognize a few names on the other side of the screen. 🖤

Full schedule above. Who will I see there?

Every few weeks, someone asks me whether I think AI will replace artists.

The truth is, I don't.

Not because I don't think technology will continue to become more impressive. It will. But I think the question misses what makes Art so powerful in the first place.

When a painting makes me cry, it isn't because the brushstrokes are technically perfect just like when a piece of music gives me chills it's not because every note is flawlessly composed.

It's because another human being poured a part of themselves into something they created. Something inside them reached across years, or even centuries, and somehow found something inside me.

That invisible connection between two people, to me, one of the most extraordinary things we are capable of.

And maybe that's why I ended up writing 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝘂𝗶𝗻, a world where Art is literally magic.

Because that's what Art has always been to me.

Magic.

❤️ If you believe Art has the power to change people, then I think you'll feel right at home at Stellridge. You can add 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝘂𝗶𝗻 to your Goodreads TBR through the link in my bio.

What piece of Art made you believe in its magic? I'd genuinely love to hear your story.
