I cannot express enough gratitude for all your support. Everyone's encouragement has been beautifully affirming. It's also scary to speak the film into existence, but I'm grateful for the team we have backing it and our growing support system.

Join Justice for My Sister Wednesday, July 22, 2026 @ 6PM PST for our virtual BIPOC Sci Fi Lab Table Read!

Fellows from BIPOC Sci Fi Lab Phase 2 will present excerpts from their upcoming television pilots with directing cast and narrator. You will be able to provide live feedback to our screenwriters and help them in their development process. You will also have a chance to network with industry professionals and fellow creatives.

Two of our featured writers are Adia Ivey (When the Porch Light Flickers) and Noel Quiñones (The Telescope). Read their bios and loglines and RSVP to the event using the link in our bio!

Our Seed & Spark is Live! WHEN THE PORCH LIGHT FLICKERS is an afro-surrealist sci-fi about aliens, spirits, and a multigenerational farm at a crossroads.

We are raising funds to pay our cast and crew, feed our team, rent our location, gear, and build the incredible world we're exploring. We have an amazing team of Chicago filmmakers and we look forward to sharing a story reflecting on what "home" means in a country that constantly wears us thin.

WHEN THE PORCH LIGHT FLICKERS is an Afro-surrealist sci-fi following a skeptical programmer named NIA, who returns to her family farm to help care for her grandmother. But when confronted with supernatural activity, Nia realizes that Pearl’s strange stories of aliens and spirits may be rooted in some truth after all.

Filming within the 30 mile radius of Chicago.
