Marika & Adib / Banff Gate Mountain + The Gem, Canmore

A Thursday in Canmore, surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, with the people they love most and their dog, Enzo, right by their side.

These two chose Canmore for the same reasons they love spending time together: hiking, travelling, and always having a new adventure to look forward to. That love of travel was woven throughout the entire day, from luggage tags serving as name cards to table numbers featuring photos of the two of them on their travels together. Such a personal way to bring their story into the details.

Their wedding was small, intimate, and centred around what matters most to them. We had the most beautiful sun-soaked ceremony overlooking the mountains, and choosing a Thursday meant we had a little more room to explore some of Canmore’s most beautiful spots without the usual crowds.

One of the sweetest moments of the day was seeing the bride’s mom stand beside her as one of her bridesmaids. I’ve been photographing weddings for a long time, and I’ve never seen that before. As a mom myself, it really got me. I’ll be sharing those photos in my stories.

A beautiful day, two genuinely lovely people, a wedding that felt so completely them, and Enzo right there for all of it.

I prayed for a kind, patient, and gentle man. I think it’s evident he forgot to pray since he ended up with me 🙆🏻‍♀️

“I’d never own a dog like that.”

Or

“I’m surprised your dog wasn’t the one that bit the dog.”

I’ve heard comments like that more times than I can count. And while I understand that fear often comes from rumors or stereotypes rather than actual experience, this is what reality looks like in our home.

Years of growing up together. Years of couch cuddles, shared play, pure laughter, and a bond that only grows stronger every day. If you ask Enzo, every single one of his cousins is his favorite human—and he adores them endlessly.

Not scary.
Not a statistic.
Not a stereotype.

Just a gentle, loving soul who happens to be a kid’s best friend. Don’t judge a dog by the label placed on them—get to know the heart behind it 🐾🤍.

Ridiculous trend? Absolutely. But if you can’t get your closest guys to do a full suit transition with you on your big day, are they really your groomsmen?

In all seriousness, huge thanks to these four. From keeping me calm and laughing through the chaos to showing up suited up and ready, I couldn’t have made it through without them. Beyond grateful to have guys like this holding it down and standing by me-not just for a silly video, but for real life. Best crew a guy could ask for.

The adrenaline was intense today. It was incredible to see such a massive gathering of Iranians in Toronto, with so many traveling from Montreal and across the U.S. to join us. With concurrent mega-protests in Munich and LA, the message is undeniable: the people of Iran have spoken.

Today, we aren't just a crowd; we are a message to the world that the fight for a free Iran is unstoppable. We will continue to be the voice for the brave people inside Iran until they are free.💚🤍❤️

Though we are scattered across the globe, every Iranian shares a singular story: we live in a ‘home away from home,’ fueled by the hope of one day feeling whole again.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME

People often ask, ‘Why do you care about Iran? You don’t even live there.’

The truth is, I was born there. I’m only here today because my parents made the incredibly difficult choice to leave a home where we no longer felt safe or accepted. I am lucky, but that luck comes with a responsibility to speak up for those who can’t. At the time I didn’t realize how lucky I was to be surrounded by the beauty of Iran. I was 3 years old when we left.

To my non-Iranian friends: I share this because the people I love are still there, living in silence while they wait for change. They are still navigating a reality where they can’t speak as freely as I can. I dream of a day when I can return freely—to walk through the streets, see my family, and soak in the beauty of my heritage without fear. Until then, the least we can do is stand for their freedom. We owe it to them to keep this conversation going.

From the peaks of New Zealand with the family to the chaos of Thailand with the boys, and every quiet moment with Enzo and family in between. Grateful for the miles covered and the memories made. 🇳🇿🐕🇹🇭

My bad for the late post…my phone died from talking too many photos. 🤭

Abel Tasman National Park is an incredible landscape where golden beaches meet a lush, ancient forest. Every turn on the track reveals a new shade of turquoise, and the sound of the ocean is a bonus.

Spotted some local wildlife during our lunch break. This curious bird also know as a weka (Gallirallus australis). They are a large, brown, flightless bird endemic to New Zealand and are known for their curious and bold nature (wanted my sandwich).

Did I trek all the way to Mount Doom just to confirm the ring was destroyed? Maybe. Did I bring snacks? Absolutely

For the Lord Of The Rings fans, Mount Doom is very real!
