POSTS STORIES REELS

For the past couple of months, I had been meaning to post about him. I wanted it to be on a random day, without any special reason. But I kept putting it off, and now here I am writing this on the very day he left us.

For me, Sreenivasan is undoubtedly the greatest writer Malayalam cinema has ever seen. This scene right here is a classic example. Although mostly we celebrate Sreenivasan for his comedy and satire, but this scene shows how effortlessly he could break our hearts too. By placing such an emotionally heavy moment in an otherwise laugh-riot buddy comedy movie. Through out the film he makes us laugh out loud, and then suddenly this scene drops, and we all stop laughing. With very few dialogues, he makes sure it hits hard with us.
You can find such scenes in Sandesham, Vellanakalude Nadu, and Varavelpu too. And then there’s Vadakkunokkiyanthram, which hits on an absolutely diff levels!

Beyond all the flaws and criticisms around his works, what I admire most is his way of storytelling. He knew exactly what to say, how to put it, and where it should hit the audience, no matter it is a comedy or a tragedy. For all the good reasons he will remain a legend of Malayalam cinema, who crafted the industry with great stories and characters which will be celebrated for generations.

Farewell, my favourite storyteller.
Rest in cinema forever. by @adil.rawshan

There's this man I never met, but I've heard so many stories about.

Through those stories, I know he was a great teacher and an ardent reader with a wonderful collection of books.

Last day, I happened to see his stamp collection, which he made through decades. There's something beautiful about discovering a person through the things they leave behind. The little details, the things they once owned and the traces of them can sometimes tell a story more quietly than words ever could.

I've heard so much about him through his daughter (whom I got to share my life with); she in so many ways is a xerox of him. She's knowingly or unknowingly making me understand the man I've never met a little more every day. Perhaps that's another beautiful way of knowing someone you never had the chance to meet, isn't it? 🖤 by @adil.rawshan

These days every time a good malayalam movie with great reviews drops, tovino somehow steals the spotlight! Maybe as a villain, a character role or an extended cameo, he becomes one of the hottest topics. While every other "superstar" is busy protecting their hero image, this guy keeps picking roles that actually matter and guess what? He always nails it too! That's what makes him one of the most exciting actors in malayalam cinema rn. Tovino my man, how do you keep stealing the show every single time? 🤌🏿✨
