I grew up with the late Yusof Gajah’s art and illustrations. I don’t remember much from my childhood, but I do remember going to IJN, joining his programs, and being completely amazed by his artwork.

Fast forward to today, having Inara has made me appreciate children’s books with beautiful illustrations even more.

I came to Bijou today with a heart that has long missed Yusof Gajah’s art. I simply wanted to hear the stories behind it once again.

It felt so surreal. مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ.
Thank you so much, @jojoyusof , for the gift. I truly appreciate it.
Wishing you all the best for your upcoming projects and the new studio. I’d love to visit soon.

When I took ACCA, people said it should be a shortcut, by 22, you can start working, dah.

But it took me a longer time to finish it.

When it was my very last paper, half of my world crumbled down. My parents divorced on the day I took the exam, and as much as I tried to hold on, I fell into a very dark hole. I was scared to enter the exam hall since then. I went to therapy to manage my exam hall anxiety.

I had to stay strong for my siblings, so I put aside my studies and started working to help my sisters. Then both of them grew up, and I had no more excuse. 😅

It took years for me to be okay. At some point, even my closest friends pointed out, “I think it’s just your mindset — sebab tu tak habis-habis ACCA you ni.” Hard truth. It was really a comfort zone for me.

I became an affiliate with the story of a mother who carried her child while studying. I think that’s a beautiful story to share. Being a mother empowered me to become a much better person. I also believe Allah placed that in my story as a part of my healing.

I’m sharing this because I know some of you are still struggling to end this journey too. Whatever your reason is, it’s okay. Everyone has their own timeline. Hugs!
 But finish it, okay? I don’t know how to explain the feeling — 🥹 it took me weeks to digest this.

To those who have been with me throughout this journey, thank you so much for the endless support. Walaupun I tak sempat nak graduate together, thank you for celebrating this milestone with me. by @adilahizz
