Great days at King Alfred school and Chigwell school I cycled some mean hills near Hampstead heath to get there!

What a day working with the amazing Jose Zalba-Smith. We lit up St Jame’s church Piccadilly. Fusing poetry with piano and flute we traveled with our audience to distant lands before returning home.

Thanks to the whole team at St Jame’s church.

Black history month was the order of the day.

What a night of poetry and song at the Rap party. We ignited the @lyrichammersmith with black defiance poetry. 10 amazing poets 20 outstanding pieces of music and a room full of party people.

I’m so happy to be gracing the stage at the Rap party with 9 brilliant writers a night called Black defiance. It’s going to be very special indeed. See you at the @lyrichammersmith this Friday.

Massive shout out to the one and only @inuaellams for bringing us all together.

We talked about the importance of community and the power in feeling a sense of belonging to a place and people. We wrote poetry inspired by @johncoltrane and looked to stars with Adinkra symbolism. It’s fantastic way to celebrate @bhm_uk

Thank you @benshammanor for opening your doors, hearts and minds to the Verbalizer.

Today

Today is a traveler
Carrying joy in its back pocket
And pain under its hat
Today looks straight ahead
Like water running
It refuses to look back

Today speaks in hieroglyphics
Only you can decode
Your words could help build
or they could erode

Today might be uneven
Like exposed forest roots
Today might be straighter
Than the crease in a trouser suit

Today is not concerned with tomorrow
Today is in love with today
Today
I will try to pay attention
And listen closely to
What today has to say.

Spectacular day of poetry and song at the amazing @stteresaseffingham I performed to years 6.7,8 we had a party in the school hall.

Getting to the school by bike was more challenging than the vocal year 8. But we made it.
