POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Not every story wraps up the way you want it to. Not every character gets what they deserve. Not your favourites. Not even the ones you detest. 😂

So, this evening, we want to know: Should books satisfy us, or should they just stay honest? Should every story give us the ending we want, or are we being dramatic when we demand a happily ever after? 👀

And really, is it okay for a book to rip you completely apart?

Or should we sue the author for emotional damages? 😭😂

📚 Join us at Lit Wars this evening as we debate: THE ENDING OWES YOU NOTHING.

You're not one story. You're several small lights someone hasn't connected yet. You're the many memories somebody somewhere is still trying to forget... Or maybe you are still finding yourself too 😇✨️

This Wednesday, September 30, join us at "THE CONSTELLATIONS WITHIN" - The Open Mic Night with Àdìtú Èdè.

Come perform. Listen. Trace & reminisce. ✨️

For Literary Spotlight this month, we're reading "Ogbuefi" by Vincent Anioke.

It begins with a slightly confused little boy... and that's all we're gonna tell you about it.😌

Read it if you can: https://www.addastories.org/ogbuefi/

Then come ready to tell us what shocked you the most... And made you upset.

If you don't get to read it beforehand, no worries - we'll read it together before the conversation begins.

Come around. Let's read, argue a little, and see where the story takes us. 🥂

Death is universal. But who is allowed to grieve - and how - depends on culture.

Sometimes, it's about the relationship to the person who died. In some traditions, family members honor a loved one using different rites depending on that relationship.

Sometimes, it's about gender - a widow may be told what to wear, what to eat, how long to mourn. A widower, barely anything at all. But again, this all depends on culture.

So today, we're talking about something somber: burial rites in your culture.

Come tell us the strangest mourning tradition you've ever personally witnessed or heard of.

See you by 5:00pm 🫱🏽‍🫲🏿
