POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
We’ve been busy building businesses, serving communities and making history. But who is documenting our story?

Ghanaian America deserves to be understood—in our own words, through our experiences and with evidence of our contributions.

GHPAC is launching the **State of Ghanaian America Research Initiative** to help answer the questions that matter: Who are we? What have we built? And what issues shape our future?

Join us at the **2026 Golden Symposium** to explore early findings, contribute your perspective and help shape what comes next.

📍 Washington, D.C.
📅 November 7–9, 2026

We cannot afford to be a footnote in America’s story—or an afterthought in Ghana’s diaspora story.

**Help tell the story. Help shape the future.**
Register at **GoldenSymposium.org**.

As far as I'm concerned every day should be National Daughters Day!

A photo can capture the moment. It can’t quite capture the weight of it.
Yesterday, as Royal Week kicked off in Washington, I had the extraordinary honor of personally greeting His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene.

Having grown up watching my grandmother the late Nana Ansaa Sasraku I have always held a deep respect for our traditional rulers—not simply because of the titles they carry, but because of the history, culture, memory and responsibility those institutions represent.

And perhaps this moment meant even more to me because of the work I have chosen to build.
When GHPAC was founded, the vision was never simply to create another organization or professional network. I wanted to help build an enduring Ghanaian diaspora institution—one that understands that our growing influence abroad should never require us to disconnect from who we are, where we come from, or the generations that came before us.
Our diaspora story does not begin when we arrive in Washington, New York, London or anywhere else in the world.
It begins at home.
It begins with our families, our towns, our languages, our traditions, our stools and skins, our histories and our ancestors.
So to stand before Otumfuo yesterday, while GHPAC served as Strategic Diaspora Partner for the Royal Week kickoff, felt like one of those beautiful full-circle reminders of what we are building and why.
We can be thoroughly modern, globally connected and politically powerful—and still deeply rooted.
In fact, I believe our roots are part of what will make the institutions we build strong enough to outlive us.
Grateful to the Millennium Excellence Foundation and Manhyia Palace for entrusting GHPAC with a role in this historic week.
And very grateful for this moment. 🇬🇭

Late Night Reflection after FULL weekend: Motherhood looks different in this season than I imagined it would.
Some weeks I’m in Accra trying to hold together the flow at home w/out chaos. Other weeks I’m back in the States for work, meetings, and responsibilities that pull me across oceans for a week or two at a time.
We’ve worked hard to build systems that keep the girls grounded and loved even when I travel. But I’ve also become really intentional about how I return home and how I spend time with each of them individually as they grow.
The twins just turned two this weekend 🥹 and I’m realizing more and more that even twins need to feel separately seen. Afia does too. 💜
Motherhood in this season isn’t really about perfection for me. It’s in the ordinary moments:
running errands together,
watching them learn something new,
bedtime conversations,
tiny hands pulling at me all day,
and trying to be fully present in between flights, deadlines, and meetings.
Very grateful for this life. Very tired too 😂💜
Happy Mother’s Day to the women mothering through ambition, transition, exhaustion, growth, and love.
Btw those tiny carts at Melcom are the best idea! #accraliving #bicontinental #twinmom #momofthreegirls #mothersday by @adjyb

Snapshots from family and friends evening at Manhyia Palace celebrating 27 years of leadership under Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

What stayed with me most was this overall message from our Asantehene, who didn't hold back in his remarks:
"We can’t expect others to believe in Ghana more than we do."
We must invest in our own country and communities.

This is the importance of traditional leadership - to pull people together from business, entertainment and political figures (across party lines) to sit side by side.

Today was International Women’s Day, and I spent the weekend doing work that reminds me why I started this journey in the first place:
🇬🇭Celebrating Ghana’s independence
-- Building diaspora bridges through GHPAC
-- And standing in rooms where women’s leadership is still too rare

Six years ago I started this work because I believed the diaspora could play a meaningful role in Ghana’s future.

What I didn’t fully realize then was how much leadership would stretch me — professionally, personally, spiritually.

But days like this remind me:
this work matters.

And seeing women stepping forward in leadership across the diaspora gives me hope that the next chapter will be even bigger.
Happy International Women’s Day to the women building, leading, advocating, and holding entire communities together.
The work continues. ✨ #ghpac #ghanadiaspora #intlwomensday taken in Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C. by @adjyb

Thank you, 2025.
You tried me. Repeatedly.

Somewhere between holiday hosting pressure, end-of-year spending despite year of moving expenses, heck - moving to a new country expenses, and every day being a -“hold this too”, I felt that familiar build-up.

And I realized:
I don’t want to enter 2026 on autopilot.
I want more harmony this year — not just ambition with vibes.

After a few very honest conversations with friends, it clicked:
so many of us — Black women leaders, moms, daughters, builders — are juggling multiple hats, trying to “hold it together” while re-entering work already tired.

So I made a January reset — not a big guide, not a manifesto — just language, boundaries, and a way to feel like I have control of this re-entry before work starts back up next week.

It’s called What I’m Not Carrying Into the New Year, and it’s linked in my bio if you need something grounding as you ease into 2026.

Still ambitious. Still building.
Just doing it with more intention this time.
If this resonates and you want to talk through January re-entry, boundaries, and harmony in real time, comment “👑” or DM me! #momlife #worklifeharmony #corporatelife #movedtoghana #bossmom by @adjyb

Really looking forward to moderating this panel at #GDNA26 in Accra 💚 at 4pm today!

The Diaspora’s Duty—Reclaiming Our Role in African Healthcare is about moving past performative engagement and getting serious about systems, trust, and impact. Grateful to be in conversation with leaders who bring policy power, clinical experience, and real on-the-ground perspective.
Let’s talk about what it actually takes to improve care for our people.

So Ima admit I posted these pics on Threads first lol. If you're on Threads lets connect!

Between Christmas and the New Year, everything slows just enough to notice what actually held you up.

For me, it was this family, our faith, and a lot of quiet in between the Diaspora December activities.

I’ve intentionally closed my office during this stretch—including limiting work with my nonprofit @ghanadiasporapac —so I can reconnect without rushing and return grounded.

Re-entering softly 🤍
