POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

August is Footwork Appreciation Month so here I am with my lil 25 min mix just in time. August's been busy but I had to post something for my favourite electronic music genre! I got into it about a decade ago and really still do get shivers while listening to the trax. I hoped to give it a battle type vibe (since it all started with the dancing amirite). I'm very grateful for the music, new friends, artists (some not even footwork artists) that I met through footwork. Heck, I even got my entry into Tarot through it by some mysterious ways of the universe (S/O @shaysunshyne ♥️ that's something for another story entirely). Link in bio 😇

Recorded at the end of August to celebrate Footwork Appreciation Month! We just smashed it out without much prep or planning, as it's not possible to make a definitive best footwork-ever mix, so much love to everyone we didn't play <3 First b2b but certainly not our last, and what makes it even cuter is the fact that we literally met because of footwork, by way of being spontaneously connected by another footwork fan and friend - love to Seanni B! All these posts about @movementdetroit made me dig up my own archives! Went to Movement in 2022 after a two-year hiatus from the pandemic. It was a wonderfully strange time. Also my second time in Detroit. From the Heart Plaza to the House of E-Funk party to the mysterious "production" guy 😂
And Todd Edwards saying he loved how I and another person danced to his set that night 🥲 So so many wonderful memories, can't wait to be back. Detroit kicks ass 🔥 And remember techno is from there.

I took these with my old Olympus µ-II

Today marks 12 years since DJ Rashad's untimely passing, and I thought I'd post this mix of his tracks I did a while ago. My hope was to showcase a small glimpse into his artistry and ingenuity early on, so I picked the older 100% DJ Rashad productions. Naturally, there's some ghetto house trax in there too. Last track is my beloved edit of Jamiroquai's "Manifest destiny". Ls up! 🔥🕊️

Also love to bby @djstraightgirl for mastering 💕

This year, I've been to many wonderful music events but one that stood out to me for different reasons (besides the obvious - great music) was 30 Years of Planet Mu @planet.mu at @silent.green . Wonderfully curated in an amazing space that is silent green (inside and out), in a way that was surprisingly neurodivergent / sensitive listener-friendly. Much respect for not bending over backwards to cater to a classic Berliner raver, as it all started pretty early and we were done by midnight. I was stoked to see my favorite @bunnyhausen Xylitol, µ-Ziq & the rest of the crew. Happy to celebrate 30 years of this amazing label. I will always think of Planet Mu fondly for what they did to the global recognition of footwork.

Although I still love and attend classic raves, that one was like a breath of fresh air (literally as you can see on the last slides). Thank you and HBD 🖤

Last month I did a radio show for @thecursedradio that was part of the WUB takeover. Thank you ultra talented angel @djstraightgirl for the invite and @wubwub.wubwub for having me. Make sure you check out their mix as well as other incredible djs who took part! It was a very special afternoon-turned-night with very special people and I'm grateful to be a part of it. 💓

Playing the usual: footwork, jungle, breaks, all >160 bpm as god intended ;))) new & old, whatever I've been listening to and dug out recently. Would love to do more of this in the future as well as any fundraisers so I'm putting it out there 😇
Enjoy <3 Link in bio.

Things I fully internalized about myself during my trip:

1. I am brave
2. I am powerful
3. I am not supposed to be liked by everyone

I went to Bali because I was invited to give my first ever Astrology workshops, in this beautiful scenery, by the amazing human beings in my life (Felcia & Monia 💙). Even though it's one of my biggest passions, it was still challenging to own that part of me and "get out there and do it" but at the same time I knew it was happening exactly as it should, and I simply wanted to advance in my astrological practice. The wonderful women who were there with me and this beautiful island offered so much more than I hoped for. Forever grateful for this experience and how I was received. Dreams do come true if you persevere long enough to see it through. And this is just the beginning.
